Pours a dark amber from a bottle, thin white head quickly dissipating but leaving some lacing. Aroma of mixed tropical fruit, a little pine note in the background. Flavor similar, some guava, mango, a hint of caramel maltiness, lots of bitterness. Rather well balanced, not too alcohol-y. Good beer.

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of malt and pine. Taste has caramel, dry pine, butter, mild peach and grass. Strong malty backbone and some booze. Good stuff.

Single bottle from W&M Mansfield. Pours out a deep golden amber with a frothy off-white head. Big oily pine aromas. Body is heavy with layers of strong bitter grapefruit, burnt rubber and pine. Thick sweetness in the middle followed by huge bitter pith finish. Somewhat muddled and unrefined compared to other DIPAs though.

Goodgrief (1896) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - SEP 24, 2015
Bottle from SL. Hazy golden pour with thin head. Aroma of tropical fruit and booze. The alcohol burn is there. Loads of tropical fruits, some bready malts and a boozy burn with a spicy hop finish. This is a big beer with a big sweetness as well. It almost tasted not quite fresh and makes me wish I could get this on tap. Still, pretty good.

Bottle at home from brewdog online
hazy dark amber orange, ripe pithy tangerines and passion fruit on nose, thin pale cream head. Sherbetty, pithy, spruce, dank, sweet, fruity, minty, growing spruce, spritzy carbonation. Super pithy and bitter, honeyed malt, well balanced. Slight wintergreen and menthol notes. Long dry pithy finish. Fab DIPA.

Dark amber into a taster showing half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows subtle notes of cannabis. The palate is full bodied and well carbonated with biscuit-like sweet malts, and a slightly less hop emphasis.

borre_m (783) - NORWAY - SEP 12, 2015
Pours clear almost copper. Aroma is very hoppy, fresh pine. Taste is extremly hoppy, pine dominating, but it has balance with a good amount of malt. Very nice.

Aurelius (4750) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Glowing orange, clear. Didn’t love the smell - malty dishwater. Chemical, boozy, marshmallow - vanilla notes (couldn’t put my finger on it, something like Peeps or Circus Peanuts ). Oily mouthfeel, staunchly bitter finish. A bit of a chore to drink, just too edgy. On tap, Brass Tap Midtown Tallahassee.

Clear Orange Amber colour, Strong Hop and alcohol smell, Sweet but very bitter
