4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Somewhat of a cloudy copper with a white head. Orange juice-laced Pac NW citrusy hop nose! Pretty sweet, there’s a solid amount of residual sugars in here to balance the bitterness, which is ample. Very citrusy hop flavor - grapefruit/orange. Full, round and creamy on the palate with moderate carbonation.

10%ABV. Double IPA.
Poured out deep gold. 8°SRM.
Nose has pine and resin. Deep enduring resin aroma.
Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has graham cracker, light elderflower honey, taffy. Hops are spicy with cilantro, Thai basil.
Finish is medium with a deep fresh pine needle, herbaceous bitter.
Goes on Favorites List !

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
$2.80 bottle from Wine Warehouse.
Pours slightly hazy orange with a small white head. Luscious orange aroma, slightly candied but it’s not bothering me. Flavor is a strong orange peel, heavy malts, syrupy. Is not my favorite.

Maybe I got an old batch but it didn't blow me away. Super malty and super boozy.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
A- Pine, citrus, malty, alcohol.
A- Burnt orange color, clear liquid, off white head.
T- Pine, bitter, burnt caramel, malty.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.
O- Decided to try the watermelon version of this first thinking I’ll go from worst to best. Somehow I think I did it backwards. This seemed actually worse. Decent aroma but insanely full of bitter pine and malty caramel. Just too much.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy brown colour, some white lacing. Slightly malty aroma with a hint of fruit: mango and citrus. Strong, bitter taste, lingering dry finish, prevalent alcohol taste as well. Tingly carbonation, overall quite light-bodied. Ok for the style, but not that great.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is a pure example of the San Diego (Imperial) IPA. Hop-forward, piney, bitter, and resinous. Amber-orange pour - just a bit of haze. Juicy tropical fruit and pine needles in the flavor profile. Herbaceous with some subtle nectar sweetness. Definitely heavy on the hops, but there’s a big malt body holding them up. Beautifully done. Pretty close to perfect for me.

From a bottle. A very interesting beer, I’m not completely sold on the watermelon flavour in beer but this is quite restrained and worth and worth a try.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very good sweet flowery aroma, taste is quite good...flowery and sweet as well but with the hops bitterness... bitterness is on front end and a bit too strong for me...also has a hotter alcohol taste that is about the highest it could be without degrading taste. Lots of flavors...good and bad though lol

A great cornerstone of the Ballast Point "fish-themed" IPAs. Clean, tasty west coast Double IPA with a fantastic, complex hop profile.
