UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours slightly cloudy medium pale orange with minimal head. Aroma is minimal - mild pale malt and lighly fruity spicy hops. Taste is big, abrasive juicy caramel malt with assertive earthy piney hops on the finish. Sizable abv is evident. Maybe think of this as an imperial Big Eye? Wish they’d had this on tap at the brewery in SD when I visited earlier this year; I bet this would be better fresh.

On draught at Belmont Station. Fizzy full golden color. Aroma is slightly dank, with bitter tropical citrus and dark caramel. Taste is passionfruit, grapefruit, orange, and sticky caramel. A hoppy bitter note in the finish that balances really well with the fruity caramel sweetness.

Bottle. Orangish amber with an off white head that lasts well. Loads of kumquat and grapefruit, some pine. Some overt alcohol. Syrupy. Strong citrus and pine, sweet grapey booziness. Strong bitterness at the end. Started at 10C, better as it warmed a little - more fruit, a little less loud. Crunchingly resinous, which is OK, but the booze that goes along with it makes me wish I’d just got Big Eye again.

Bottle from systembolaget. Smell is hoppy, frutiy and a smokey roasted finish. Pours a clear oranget with a rich white head. The taste is a bit bland but does offer a pretty punch of hops and fruits, and some grass-like hay. Palate is fresh and does leave you wanting antoher mouth. Although not as good as many IPAs it is an overall okay beer.

On tap @ Blind Tiger House. This is a light cloudy amber orange one with a small islandy and sidesticking off-white top. The nose is extreme fruity. Loaded with grassy fruity hops this, some zesty freshness wrapped inside with a juicy water melon freshness. Smells really nice this. Even a hint of honey on the nose. Yeah, a classic double ipa flavor. Lots of malty sticky sweetness balanced nicely with a good amount of green piney hops. It’s almost a bit peppery also to be honest. Well balanced was perhaps putting it a bit hard, cause even if it’s really hoppy it still somehow managed to be a bit sticky and really caramel sweet in the mouth. It’s sticky on the mouthfeel and about average on the carbonation level. Lots of fruity concentrated flavors going on all at once. A flavorful one! 23.06.2013

22 oz bomber. The pour is a darker orange-y gold with a great white head that falls down slowly, leaving some incredible lacing behind. The aroma is absolutely beautiful. There is a wonderful fruity aroma compounded with floral hops and just a light hint of possible bitterness on the back end. The flavor is bursting with an initial bitterness to it, backed up by a slight maltiness. The hops are nice and floral throughout but the fruitiness remains surprising. The mouth feel is nice and not thick, but far from thin. The carbonation is nicely added and the aftertaste is lingeringly dry, slightly bitter and lightly fruity. I like it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange color with a one finger off white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, hops and slight alcohol, just very little. Taste is citrus, pine with a taste of alcohol in the end. Not my type of beers ( alcohol present in taste and aroma) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11/VI/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ DICT BBQ - BB: n/a (2014-618) Thanks to Erwin and Frederic for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange beer, some sediment floating around under a nice creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, caramel, honey, malts, sweet, biscuit. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: fruity start, bitter hops, sweet malts, honey, bit piny, resinous, little sour. Aftertaste: quite the alcohol burn, very resinous hops, bitter and dry, alcohol is very noticeable, bit sourish, sweet malt base carries the very high bitterness. Very decent beer, this one!
