Bottle with drink by date of sometime in 2014 so I’m good. A: Pours a bold amber. Head has good retention. S: Smells like any other IPA. Floral, a bit more malty than others I suppose. T: Hops are out of control when they first hit. Then a hint of malt but it gets cut down by more hops. The problem here is the hops are very dull and dry. They linger too long and cut through the other flavors so much that there is little play left. Finish has a pretty intense alcohol bite. P: As detailed in the taste, the hops just linger around too much. Palate is super aggressive. . Overall this beer was actually pretty weak. It’s just so unbalanced. I think back to a certain triple IPA I had that did not leave me with the same notion that the hops are out of control. They’re just so dull on the palate that they linger and I can’t stop thinking about them. I wonder if I just got a bad batch given the generally high rating of this one. I’ll stick to the calico amber... that was killer!

12 oz. bottle from The Beer Store. Pours a deep copper color with a 2 finger off white head with lace. Lots of citrus and pine on the nose. Flavor is semi sweet up front. More malt than the aroma would suggest. Hops take over on the back end. Big hop finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Light orange with white head. Booze, cantaloupe, honey, crackers and wet hay. Taste is boozey with a medium bready, hay bitterness. Body is heavier with a sticky feel.

Flaska delad med @msbrindbergs, tack! Bärnstensfärgad vätska med vitt skum. Doftar typiska dipa med kraftig maltbas men lite söt humle. Smaken... Mycket kraftig smak med stor beska och lång eftersmak. Grym!

SlackerMads (2222) - DENMARK - AUG 28, 2015
Bottle. Light hazy golden with a large off white head. Nose has fat dank hops, light pine and sweet tropical fruits. The flavour is lighter to start with than expected from the nose with citrus, peach, persimmon, white bread, light sugar. After the initial citrus stuff it turns heavy and dank long into the finish. Full body, oily texture, fine carbonation, solid sweet and bitter, some alcohol and light astringency. Kind of tasty, also slightly punchy and rough in the finish.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a nice looking bronzed amber color with a slight transparency about it. Soft carbonation rises in the center to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipates in a soft gentle manner. Clingy soft foamy white lacing rings around in a messy contour. The smell starts off with some sweet onion, light grassy to sweet and bitter pine. Light caramel malts display a nice background as it warms. The taste takes the sweet onion and grassiness to combine and be a nice display of bittersweet hops blending with a sly caramel backbone. A dry bittersweet aftertaste of sweet onion runs into the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body. It had a slightly sessionable smooth feel to it. Bitterness is there, but isn’t overly bearing. Overall, for a DIPA, that mouthfeel/palate just feels different than a lot of other DIPA’s I’ve had, not sure if its the dorado hops, but this was quite enjoyable to drink.

Bottle. Opaque yellow pour with a thin off white head. Aroma of bready malt, candied hops, and cereal. Full body, a beer you can chew with a sweet but faint hoppy finish.

From a 12 oz bottle. Limited bitterness for style but lots of hops in the nose and plenty in the flavor too, especially in the finish and aftertaste. Relatively refreshing and easy to drink for style.

20 August 2015, tap. Yellow/faint orange and hazy. Nose is smarties or sweet tarts. Ned body and moderately fizzy. Alcohol, slightly sweet at that, some sweet tart taste, though not tart, bitter pine hop finish. Nice. I expect a bit more from a 10% beer but still nice.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Freshness unknown. Very attractive 5 out of 5 copper-amber pour with a modest of-white head. Aroma is alive with grapefruit, pine, citrus, and all those juicy hop sensations that hopheads should love. Medium but smooth body. Explosive burning hops in the flavor that linger for some time at the finish.
