Beautiful clear golden color with a somewhat okay head. Very hoppy, like drinking a skyless summer day...

Pour is a burnt orange with an off white head. Little bit of mango and hop bitterness on the nose, peach, an almost spicy character too, and a nice bready malt character. Taste is somewhat bitter, lots of tropical fruit, quite sweet, with a nice bit of malt, and there’s a grassy spiciness to it as well. Medium bodied, good beer although I’d think they could do better given they brew one of the best IPA’s out there.

Pours light amber with a great lacing head. Aroma is grapefruit sweet. Flavor is very deep layered sweet hops, fruity not grassy. Alcohol cuts through the malt in a nice finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from 5K backlog. Pours cloudy orange with white head. Nose and taste of perfume, caramel malt, bitter orange peel, resin and cologne. Light alcohol in the finish. Tons of malt. A bit too perfumy for me. Medium body.

Draft at Bukowski’s Tavern in Cambridge, MA. Rich, smooth, balanced. Good forward hops, citrus and juicy but not over the top. Tasty.

Bomber. Pours a slightly hazy orangey-amber with a thin white head, good lacing. Nose is pineapple, malts and some alcohol. Mouth is medium bodied, citrus (grapefruit) hoppiness and bittersweet up front, which rides a malty backbone through to a looonggg bitter finish. Not too complex, but a decent DIPA all the same.

22 oz. bottle from Bruisin’ Ales, Asheville, NC (enjoy by August 9, 2013). Pours dark orange with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of clean pine, grapefruit rind, and pineapple. Great bitter hop flavor of grapefruit, grass, mango, pine needles, and pineapple. Just the right amount of malt to not so much balance but rather to tone down the hop assertiveness. Outstanding, of course. (Replaces an earlier review from Logan’s pre-GABF party, 2009, Denver, CO. Same score from the earlier review).

Not a terrible beer but there are far better choices to be made. Very strong alcohol taste far stronger than the abv. Still a decent choice in the dipa category. Most certainly a decent choice if available. 99 is way above this beers level I would say mid 80’s more like it.

pours a light clear amber with a rocky, off-white head and some irregular lacing. toffee, spruce, citrus, caramel, bread, lemon, heavy alcohol, resin, apricot. very bitter, medium sweetness, lightly sour. medium-full body, thick and creamy feel, moderate carb, lots of alcohol burn. overly boozy
