This beer is as close as it gets to duplicating "The Pliny" With that said. It is very good. I really don’t know what else to say. If you can’t get Pliny then get this instead.

Pours a slightly cloudy, golden amber/orange color with a two finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting cap. Chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Dank, uber-fresh hop aroma with lots of earhy pine and sweet fruit notes along with subtle malt presence. The smell of hops fill up the room once I removed the cap. Pine needle and buds along with tropical/citrus notes and biscuity malt. Chewy full body with a blast of dry, earthy bitterness that is excellently countered by sweet tropical and citrus fruit notes along with a pale malt backbone. Sticky, dry pine needle followed by hints of pineapple, mango, grapefruitand orange peel. Biscuity malt backbone provides subtle balance without taking away from the hops at all. The ABV is noticeable with subtle heat in the finish but it’s really well masked considering the strength. Just an outstanding hop bomb of a beer.

22 oz. bottle shared at Logan’s 2009 pre-GABF Party. Light copper pour with a white head. Big, bitter grapefruit hop aroma. Flavors of bitter pineapple, grapefruit, with a nice toffee balance. Very good.

22oz bottle. Hazy orange with a fine white head. Instant burst of candied pineapple, strawberry, mint in the aroma. The flavor has an intense fruity, hoppy flavor, mostly of dried mango and mint. A firm malt sweetness enhances the hops, yet isn’t cloying or sticky. A bit fatter than some other west coasters, but not too flabby. Just enough bitterness to cut the body and dry the finish, in tandem with just a hint of smooth alcohol. No harshness or astringency. This bomber is going down dangerously fast, but this is still a substantial sipper. Awesome DIPA.

Ballast Point Dorado is an indian storytelling which overrules most. This beer questions the charecter 5.0. Why not?

Bomber shared with DuffmanSW. Pours a sparkling copper with a 1 inch off-white head. Very strong and fresh floral and citrus aroma with a caramel background. Flavor is maybe a touch too sweet, but the fantastic display of hops makes up for it. Grassy, floral, grapefruit and orange, and plenty of caramel/honey sweetness. Thick on the palate and oily with a long bitter finish. Very fresh, very nice.

Pours very beautiful gold amber with about just shy of an inch of head. On the aroma I get very floral hops, citrus, along with other floral aromas. On the palate you get a strong yet well put together amount of hops, strong citrus in there as well indicative of the classic west coast double, bitter flavor in there as well. One thing I am liking about this one is that nothing seems to be overpowering anything else. Smooth as well. Hops staying around on the palate and the citrus is lingering as well.

Very clear golden color with nice bubbly head. Kick ass aroma with citrus and floral notes. Not overly hoppy. Awesome double IPA.
