Wonderful choice of hops. Nice and sticky. The malt is very mellow and sits nicely behind the malt. All the normal hop flavors are in there full strength and a bit of a few less common fruit/flower flavors aromas. A bit thick w/ a bit too much alcohol on the flavor. A great hop bomb with some great elements and a few flaws.

Overall great brew kick butt aroma of floral and pine. Big huge hop flavor too. Palate of oily hops was a little much. Taste overwhemlming hoppy.

Slightly hazy golden/orange pour with a white head. Aromas of citrus hops and slight pine. Flavor is juicy tropical fruit hops balanced with a nice malt backbone. Solid brew.

Served on cask at Al’s of Hampden into a nonic pint glass. This one is dry hopped with Crystal and Horizon Hops.

A - Pours a hazy light orange/yellow with a thick two finger head with thick, sticky, lacing down the entire glass.

S - Strong pungent smell of hops with hints of grapefruit, tangerine, and mango with a slightly sweet aroma from the malt. A faint smell of caramel comes out as it warms.

T - Fairly bitter thanks to all those hops. Not as much fruit as in the nose, the malt seems to be dulling down those flavors a bit. A bit sweet from the grains. Very well balanced. Not as good as the sculpin casks I have had but still a very good offering from ballast point.

M - Medium-Heavy body and flavor with a good balance of flavors. It could use a little more carbonation is it appears a little dead in the glass.

D - Drinkability is fairly high on this one. I would like the hops to come thru a tiny bit more in the taste but still an excellent cask offering.

Tap at mikkeller, copenhagen. Hazy orange color, white head. Aroma is sweet malty, heavy fruity, hoppy. Taste is malty, heavy hops, fruits, hint of alcohol but not pushing. Long hoppy finish. Quality iipa.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends, København. Pours slightly hazy golden with a big creamy off white head. Aroma is hoppy with orange peel and grapefruit, tropical fruit with lychee and peach, as well as caramel malts with toffee and bread. Full creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is hoppy as hell, with pine, resin, orange and grapefruit peel, as well as a nice malty back bone. Lingering, and quite sweet, citrusy bitter finish. A nice, way over-the-top-IPA.

Tap at Muddy Waters in a 10 oz pour. Deeper golden color. Lacing is strong. Taste leans on bitterness but has some solid malty characteristics you would expect from a double IPA. Caramel, hops, maybe hidden citrus. Doesn’t hide the alcohol too well but it still tastes enjoyable. Decent option.

On draught at Belmont Station. Fizzy full golden color. Aroma is slightly dank, with bitter tropical citrus and dark caramel. Taste is passionfruit, grapefruit, orange, and sticky caramel. A hoppy bitter note in the finish that balances really well with the fruity caramel sweetness.

Bottle. Orangish amber with an off white head that lasts well. Loads of kumquat and grapefruit, some pine. Some overt alcohol. Syrupy. Strong citrus and pine, sweet grapey booziness. Strong bitterness at the end. Started at 10C, better as it warmed a little - more fruit, a little less loud. Crunchingly resinous, which is OK, but the booze that goes along with it makes me wish I’d just got Big Eye again.

Bottle from systembolaget. Smell is hoppy, frutiy and a smokey roasted finish. Pours a clear oranget with a rich white head. The taste is a bit bland but does offer a pretty punch of hops and fruits, and some grass-like hay. Palate is fresh and does leave you wanting antoher mouth. Although not as good as many IPAs it is an overall okay beer.

On tap @ Blind Tiger House. This is a light cloudy amber orange one with a small islandy and sidesticking off-white top. The nose is extreme fruity. Loaded with grassy fruity hops this, some zesty freshness wrapped inside with a juicy water melon freshness. Smells really nice this. Even a hint of honey on the nose. Yeah, a classic double ipa flavor. Lots of malty sticky sweetness balanced nicely with a good amount of green piney hops. It’s almost a bit peppery also to be honest. Well balanced was perhaps putting it a bit hard, cause even if it’s really hoppy it still somehow managed to be a bit sticky and really caramel sweet in the mouth. It’s sticky on the mouthfeel and about average on the carbonation level. Lots of fruity concentrated flavors going on all at once. A flavorful one! 23.06.2013
