Bottle:   Amberish, fairly clear, light carbonation, moderate white foamy head, fairly sticky lacing.   Sweet candied citrus peel like aroma, hoppy and certainly on the sticky/sweet/citrusy side.   A bit more pithy on the tongue., not as sweet as I thought.   Certainly citrusy, but needs that sweet candied citrus peel I got on the nose.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   While smooth, its not as big as I thought it was going to be.   Smells sweeter, more inviting than it actually is.   Its a hoppy side of the coin, unlike what I prefer which tends to be the malty side (nearing Barley Wine category).   Still a great IIPA, just could use some touches to further impress me.   Thanks for the bottle Bill!

Orange golden body, offwhite head. Aroma has resiny hops, cookie dough malt. Way too much alcohol.

Really nice dank pine citrus spice aroma. Beyond that solid but nothing too special.

Very nice balanced but really hoppy dipa. Very enjoyable. Malty yet hoppy what I like. Nice lasting head. Not to sweet not to bitter. Nice mouthfeel. My kind of beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3fourths (8228) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 10, 2014
Clear orange, sparkling with a medium-sized white head. Peppery Cascade-like orange and grapefruit and apricot focused hops, more citrus-forward than tropical. Rich and savory, full bodied with relatively low sweetness and assertive but balanced bitterness. Enjoyable mouth feel and texture with faint trace of alcohol. Nicely balanced for a big beer, and the sugar and bitterness levels are kept pleasant. Part of me is surprised that this isnít one of the highest rated Double IPAs among the geeks, but I guess this style is scored more for extreme flavors than for balance and drinkability.

gramity (1440) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 10, 2014
smells like a freshly peeled and juiced tangerine. It tastes mildly sweet with some underlying toasty malt and a cornucopia of citrus hops flavors dominating, including: tangerine, orange, and red grapefruit peel. The beer is orange in color with a beige head, medium body, and good mouthfeel.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately to heavily hoppy (grapefruit, lemon, apricot, resin), with notes of gum, dried mango, alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic. A nice rendition. This is a hard style to even make drinkable at all, and this would probably be nicer with a bit less alcohol, but itís good given the inherent limitations. Nice tropical fruit aromas and minimal raw resin, good flavor balance thatís neither too sweet nor too abrasively bitter/citric (itís on the edge, though; itís certainly an aggressive beer), and a pretty fluffy mouthfeel without excessive alcohol burn. It could certainly be better, but in a field riddled with terrible examples, this oneís ahead of the pack.

Bomber bottled Sept 24 to a tulip glass. Pours a hazy golden orange with a fingers worth of off white head and decent lacing. Aroma is dank pine, citrus, grapefruit, and hints of bread. Taste is big dank pine up front. Itís followed by tons of bright citrus flavors as well as some tropical fruits. There is a nice bready, caramel malt that kind of sits in the background a bit. The beer is somewhat sticky and leaves you refreshed and wanting more. I can barely notice the alcohol. Awesome dank west coast DIPA.

Pour on tap at Beer House, hazy dark orange-red pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of big pine, earth, resinous notes into a bit of caraeml, toasted bread notes, some orange as well. †Taste had a mix of caramel, toffee, nice dank, resinous notes with some spice, pine, grass, touch of citrus, finishing very bitter, dry.

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper gold with a big frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass a little.

The aroma is subdued - some sweet malt and stinky hops.

The flavor is sweet soapy malts with some old fruit and a big harsh resiny bitter finish that lingers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Overall, a big hop bomb with harsh resiny stinky hops.

Bottle from Jess. Pours a golden yellow with white head. Aroma is citrus, a bit sweet. Taste is light, dry, hoppy, a tad bitter. Hides alcohol well.
