4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ballast Point is ON POINT with this one. Like most of their hop oriented brews, the Dorado is one to enjoy. The complexity from the varieties of hops creates a smorgasbord of piney, grassy, and citrus flavors and is supported by a strong backbone of toasted malts. A darkish brown color creates a telltale tan head and nice palate that comes from the near perfect balance. Great brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at 109 Brews. It poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was of toffee, pine, malts and hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more caramel, florals, toasted malts, pine and a spicy hops. Quite tasty.

12oz bottle. Pours Orangish Amber. Aroma of sweet citrus. Taste is sweet and malty with a citrus pine alcohol heat finish. It’s pretty good but i like Sculpin better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught at Monk’s American Bar, Stockholm, 1 Feb 2016) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with citrus, orange marmalade, caramel and resin. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, resin, citrus, marmalade, apricots and a generous resiny/citric bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite powerful with an impressive hop presence and a touch of alcohol. Very nice.

Solid DIPA although not my favourite - great balance between sweet caramel malt and flowery hops although I was left wanting more hops - full-bodied - not aggressively bitter (as I prefer) - smooth drinker - alcohol invisible.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very bitter Imperial IPA. Lots of tropical fruits, earthy, caramel malts aroma. medium carb, full bodied, very bitter and malty sweet. Nice but what I can get here is average 4month+ old so I should try the fresh one again when I visit California.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear and dark amber color, long-lasting 1" ivory head, Aroma of pine hops and malt. Taste is huge malt that is beaten down by strong pine hops that grow through the palate, heading from there to a finish that shows a little of tyhe malt for an encore. A huge brew, too much for most food or snacks.

Finally got my hands on a nice variety of fresh Ballast Point brews, was super stoked for the DIPA and wow, what a let down. Boozy, unoriginal, pretty lame to be honest.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2016 This beer is quite good. I have special need to get supar boosted for Louis Prima celibration of my own liking when he came to california from new orleans to expand on fine festive music and to stimulate glorious butt cheeks on west coast of US. since the fish named ballast is in san diago - louis and my wondewrful girl betty for surf and sun area are perfect for time of much record spin and tanned butt-cheeks for a wonderful time. While betty enjoys fine tasting beer - she is not familiarn with streanth of beer and combined with the glorious sounds of Lous Prima - she has movered her cheeks in a way that makes this beer very memorable for me and for that I love the Ballast people and Betty with her glorious ass.,
