Ballast Point is ON POINT with this one. Like most of their hop oriented brews, the Dorado is one to enjoy. The complexity from the varieties of hops creates a smorgasbord of piney, grassy, and citrus flavors and is supported by a strong backbone of toasted malts. A darkish brown color creates a telltale tan head and nice palate that comes from the near perfect balance. Great brew.

Orange, white head, and mild lacing. Pine, citrus, floral, caramel, and orange peel aroma. Full bodied, syrupy, lemon, salt, sweet caramel, mild wood, and mild alcohol note. High hop bitterness start to finish, nice sweet malt balance, mild dry notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden orange color with a white head. Hop, citrus, floral and malt aroma. Hop, citrus, floral, biscuit, some pine and slight alcohol flavors. Medium body and carbonation. Hop, citrus and floral finish.

Pours beautiful dark amber with a thick and fluffy pale buff head. Strong aroma is quite hoppy, resiny, with fruity hints. Bold flavor charges fierce hops across the tongue, resiny and evergreen, somewhat bitter, subtly malty and fruity, with just a whisper of honey. Texture is firm and smooth, going down well, if not too fizzy; finish is evergreen hoppy and a little fruity. Glad that I finally caught one!

A really solid DIPA with a hop aroma focussed on citrus, floral and orange. Lots of clean crisp bitterness with similar flavors tempered very slightly by the caramel malts.

Nice balanced Imperial IPA. Pours a beautiful amber color. Scents of citrus and sweetness. You get hops, but also a lot of citrus flavors like orange, grapefruit, and passion fruit. First time for this beer and I would have it again.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 Bottle #1: Pours a nice clear amber with lasting white head leaving great lacing. Aroma is boozy pine hops. Taste is strong overall, with resinous, alcohol-laden hops up front. Drying with continued alcohol and hops in the middle, into a warming bitter aftertaste. I know itís 10%, but this is way too much alcohol. Bottle #2: This stays relatively drinkable, although itís not on my side of the earthy/vegetal<-->citrus explosion DIPA spectrum. Tempted to move taste to a 7, but letís wait for the other 2 bottles first. Bottle #3: Lots of alcohol. Way too much.

12 oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Bottled 15 008. Pours golden on color with amber tint. Transparent. Small white head. Aroma is citrusy, orange in particular. Floral. A little piney. Alcohol is also notable. Taste is bitter upfront. A little sharpness from alcohol. Medium/full bodied for the style. Average carbonation. Long alcoholic finish. Overall this is a good ipa, but the alcohol is not super balances

Pours orange and clear. Aroma of lots of citrus and juicy. Taste was orange, lemon, grapefruit, and intensely bitter. Bitterness lasted throughout. Not their best offering, but not bad.

Orange pour, small off white head. Fantastic aroma of orange, clementine, grapefruit, flavor is more citrus, with a strong caramel malty backbone.

Bomber - great golden/amber color coupled with clarity and a light head. Love the huge piney grapefruit aroma. Another excellent IPA from Ballast Point. The entire array of hop flavors burst in your mouth - resinous pine, citrus zest, juniper, tart floral and ruby grapefruit. Can't ask for more IPA goodness.
