Bottle: In between a few lambics I went back to a Californian IPA, this one is powerful even a bit too much. Extreme brew.

Golden coloured beer with a thin off-white head, that long lastes. Mod. intensity of aromas (pine, grapefruit). Oily texture with a lively carbonaiton. The taste is bitter with a very long and very strong hoppy-bittery aftertaste. It’s rather too much. A good choice for the hopheads!

MaltOne (261) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 25, 2015
Pours gold amber, slightly hazy, brief lacy white head. Aroma slightly citrus. Flavor... Ballast Point creates some of the most interesting flavors around. Peach, herbal grass, melon, transitioning to faint pepper, then to a resiny but slightly creamy malt, with a dry, rich finish. Palate medium viscosity. Overall, another unique take from BP.

tennisjoel (1209) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - MAY 20, 2015
Appearance of unfiltered and clear amber orange. Small and thin head but long lasting. Grapefruit and pine meet the nose, with sweet sugary maple and caramel malts as well. Tasty beer. ABV is noticable but not overbearing. Grapefruit dominates. A good beer for sure.

Very nice DIPA. It met all of my expectations and even though I have passed by this one many times I may now try more Ballast Point offerings.

BeerBunker (852) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - MAY 16, 2015
12oz bottle. Pours amber with a foamy off white head. Aroma is of pine, hops, and malt. Very piney. Taste is very piney, with a lot of citrus hops. Nice malt backbone. Lingering sweet hop taste. Finish is very dry. Mouthfeel is soapy, and very carbonated. It’s just a good beer.

This is a maximum beer. Strong aromas of grapefruit and lemon, thyme and sandalwood. Lots of slippery alcohol, bitter and lengthy, dry flowery finish. Delicious.
