Ten different malts and six different hops (Ahtanum, Cluster, and Spalt to name a few) combine to create this full-flavored, small beer. Even Keel features a silky malt backbone and a bright hop flavor and aroma that come from the late kettle additions and dry hopping with 1.5 pounds per barrel. Even more layers of flavor are created with fermentation being done by two strains of yeast. This session ale is herbaceous with additional citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit. The orange to copper hue draws you in and the low alcohol volume keeps you coming back for more.

Can from Tanakaya. Drank straight from the can. Grassy, citrus nose with some lemon, cracker and green pineapple coming out. Light body as expected with good carbonation. Taste is pretty similar with the grassiness really standing out. Nice crackery, biscuit like malts. Bitter finish that lingers just enough. Very refreshing.

(Can). A perfect choice for after sun at the beach in Lavalette. One of the best session IPA's I've had. All the flavor with smooth palate without the ABV. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can from Root Cellar. Pours a clear somewhat burnt tea-like orange color with a couple fingers of off-white head. Notes of pine, grass, tea, tangerine, lemon, biscuit, caramel, orange zest. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, thin, refreshing mouthfeel. Nothing blasts here, in that west coast IPA kind of way. It lives up to its way in the most satisfying manner.

12 oz can. Aroma is citrusy, cotton candy, sweet bread, tropical. Pours almost clear new penny copper with a large bone-white soapy head with excellent retention; laces a little. Taste isnít as good, with some unwelcome caramel malt and slightly dirty hops ruining the party; maybe itís just past its prime--who knows, I canít read the code on the bottom of the can. Has medium-level bitterness, herbal tea notes. Thin watery mouthfeel, rough carbonation. I really wanted to love this, but itís not doing it for me. Average. Edit: aroma starts going downhill after sitting a bit--shows signs of caramel malt, cooked veggies, dirty hop profile; downgraded from an 8.
