COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten different malts and six different hops (Ahtanum, Cluster, and Spalt to name a few) combine to create this full-flavored, small beer. Even Keel features a silky malt backbone and a bright hop flavor and aroma that come from the late kettle additions and dry hopping with 1.5 pounds per barrel. Even more layers of flavor are created with fermentation being done by two strains of yeast. This session ale is herbaceous with additional citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit. The orange to copper hue draws you in and the low alcohol volume keeps you coming back for more.

On tap at the Miramar location. Dark amber pour, one finger head. Aroma is grapefruit and some malt body. Taste is very mild malt and some slight hop presence. Overall, meh. Iíd only drink it again if I planned on being at the beach all day, wouldnít pick it up at the bar.

12oz can pours clear dark amber with 2 finger head. Nose and palate are malt heavy with some sticky orange peel and sweet round fruit, toasted biscuit background, sweet apricot and caramel, light resin, with medium-high bitterness. Too malty. Meh.

12 oz. can, consumed on 1-11-15. Pours a nice, clear bronze with moderate effervescence and a large amount of uneven, cream-colored head. Produces good lacing. Looks good. Nice, pleasant, floral, dry hoppiness in the aroma. Subtle yet surprisingly strong but quite nice smell features scents of pine resin and cedar. Pleasant, hoppy flavor is floral and dry. The flavor largely matches the aroma, though itís not quite as strong. Nice, dry, dirt-like aftertaste. Light body. Soft in the palate. Insubstantial palate effects. Overall, this is a one-dimensional beer, but it is good in that one dimension. Really well done. This is exactly what a beer of this style should be. Itís aromatic, flavorful, and drinkable, and itís the best session IPA Iíve had. This is a very well done, professional effort by a darn good brewery.

Pours a light copper color with a white head. Citrus aroma with light tropical fruits and pine. Flavor starts with a grassy malt followed with citrus flavors and finishing with a grapefruit and pine resin hoppiness. This is one of the better Session IPAís Iíve had.

From the can. Dry, bitter grain and pine with spots of citrus in the aroma. Taste is even bitterness and pine with clean malt and some biscuit. Clean drink. Good.

Draft at The Beer Authority, Seattle. Bubbly head on more clear dark gold. Lighter body of course, much more like an amber-malt pale. Some hop, crisp certainly, but overall vacant malts. Very clean, some bittering on finish. Nice enough.
