Also on tap at Capone’s. This beer is a fantastic, full of flavor beer, in a small package. Low ABV makes for a great easy drinking session beer. Very clear in appearance. The aroma is very citrus, and the taste concurs. The malt is obviously light in this beer. This is a great IPA, with a solid hop background and foreground.

A draft pint at Capone’s Fresh Hop Fest. Had to try this after seeing the good ratings on Ratebeer, and I have to concur. A 3.5% beer is not one I’d be inclined to order, but this one is different. The lack of malt body in the beer is compensated for by the hops which result in a beer that is as tasty as many 6.5% IPAs around. Leave it an excellent San Diego brewer to produce the first low alcohol beer I’d ever want to buy a six-pack of!

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a hazy orange color with no head. Aroma of grapefruit, hops, pine and toasted malts. Fresh flavor with citrus, floral hops, pine and some toasted malts. Very well done!

Lightly hazy orange amber color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, light pine, citrus fruits, and some toast. Taste of citrus, pine, toffee, grapefruit, grass, and a bitter finish.

Appearance: Pours a yellow gold with an amber tint. The body is clear, and atop sits a modest layer of foamy suds. Once the head subsides, it grips onto the glass and leaves its markings all the way down.

Aroma: Lemon, tangerine, grass.

Taste: Dry malt, gigantic citrus hops. Lots of grapefruit and orange.

Mouthfeel: Thin with very active carbonation.

Overall: Beautiful and spot on. Up there with my favs from Firestone Walker and the Collaboration they did earlier this year.

Tap at TJs. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a creamy Off white lacing head. Aroma of tea, fresh orange hops, bready malt. Hoppy and fresh. Flavor of fresh hops, pine, tea, floral notes. Bready and nutty malt profile.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of cirtus, grapefruit, and hops. Very nice aroma for such a low alcohol beer. Poured amber in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Slightly hazy. Lightly sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, citrus, grapefruit, malt, and slight caramel. Medium body. Tingly, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Medium sweet, medium to heavily bitter, hop, grapefruit, malt, and caramel finish. This beer demonstrates that 3.5%ABV does not mean no flavor. I am impressed.

Tap at Toronado SD. Poured a hazy orange with a thin white head. Good lace sticking around despite the mediocre tap pour. Aroma is lemony, dank weed with massive orange peel oil and perfume. Taste is insanely perfumey and oily bitter then moves to chewy kumquat and curacao. Just not quite enough body to be an IPA- more of an APA. But now I’m reading 3.5% abv! Holy $#%@. This is one hilarious mild ale that will destroy your face.

A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Would get again fo sho. hell yeah, a solid session beer, very light in body very dry, but nice hop profile, good aroma, i think it could have used a less fermentable base grain or higher mash, but still a rad beer.

Growler shared thanks to largadeer on BA. Pours clear golden with a one-finger white head and good lacing. Aroma showcases loads of hops for the ABV. Citrusy and herbal, along with a touch of sweet malt. Flavor is solid for a session beer (in the true sense of the word) like this. Slightly sweet malt with a hop kick that is orangey and herbal, almost tea-like. Medium-light body with lots of resins attacking your palate. Overall, wow, this is an excellent a pale ale, especially at 3.5% ABV. I could session the hell out of this, and what do you know, I can even use the verb "session" and not offend the term’s tireless defenders when referring to this one.
