COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten different malts and six different hops (Ahtanum, Cluster, and Spalt to name a few) combine to create this full-flavored, small beer. Even Keel features a silky malt backbone and a bright hop flavor and aroma that come from the late kettle additions and dry hopping with 1.5 pounds per barrel. Even more layers of flavor are created with fermentation being done by two strains of yeast. This session ale is herbaceous with additional citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit. The orange to copper hue draws you in and the low alcohol volume keeps you coming back for more.

Tap@bishops, gamla. Amber. Real nice fruity hoppy nose. Grapefruit, caramels, peaches. Soft nice body. Doesn’t feel watery, but light though. Hoppy lingering finish. Good session ipa. Understandably a bit thin in the middle, but very enjoyable still.

this is a successful cocnept beer...kick ass aroma of sugary sweet but floral hops...the color is solid bronz and inviting. flavors were thickly layed out with a sweet citrus hop character and pretty pronounced body for Utah alcohol levels...super clean, super flavorful session ale. props

Small, tight, white head, good lace and a clear, copper hued appearence. Nice flowery, grassy nose with light fruity citrusy notes. Nice mouthfeel, good carbonation, lightly oily and a hint resiny, clean and light. Dry, pale malts, nicely biscuity and freshly grainy, slightly juicy hops and a clean dry finish with a balanced bitterness. Cool little quaffer! Pretty tasty, clean aromas, nice mouth feel for such a small brew. Cans from statelineliquors.

On tap at Ballast Point. Pours a light orange with a little bit of a head and aromas of soapy hops, oranges and pine. Flavor is very nice... like a light IPA... lots of flavor, enough malt to make it interesting, but not filling. Very interesting and good.

Pours a clear golden brown from the can with fluffy white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is great hoppy citrus notes that go into nice malty backbone. Taste follows, way more than the 3.8% abv would make you assume. Very nice beer, definitely will be drinking a few of these.

Tap, O’Briens. Pours light golden orange in color. Mildly hoppy aroma. Good malty balance with the bitterness. Good APA.

Draft at the brewery. Pours opaque amber with a fizzy, bubbly white head. Feel is very light, but there is a strong, dry hop presence, with some light citrus and light resin. Light body and low carbonation. Light aroma of hops, lemon, and resin.

Draft at The Beer Authority, Seattle. Bubbly head on more clear dark gold. Lighter body of course, much more like an amber-malt pale. Some hop, crisp certainly, but overall vacant malts. Very clean, some bittering on finish. Nice enough.

Thus beer does not seem 3.5% to me. It is a Jekyll and Hyde beer. The first half is awesome. Full of citrus and a big hop bite. Then it so of harshes the tongue after that. In comparison to the Stone collaborative San Diego Session, this doesn’t balance out the full glass. Maybe less hop assertiveness would help.
