Bartzilla (403), San Diego, California, USA May 6, 2006 Updated: May 7, 2006 Hell yeah. I like this stuff. The first time I had it was at O’Briens and that followed a strong belgian, so I don’t think those were the right conditions to accurately come to judgement. Had some down at the brewmart today and it was delicious. How do you get such a big body out of a beer with such little alcohol. Trade secrets! Anyway, I’d drink this stuff religiously if they would bottle it. It’s like a safe version of North Star.
JoeMcPhee (3899), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 28, 2008 Tap at the tasting room. Very pale straw-coloured beer. Aroma is lightly citrusy with a light orange peel flavour. A little bit of honeyish sweetness to the malts with a lingering fruity flavour on the back. Easy to knock back... a pretty solid session beer. mgumby10 (1651), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Pours a dark gold color, with a small off white head. Smells of citric hops and light malts combined. The hop character was pretty profoundi nthe flavor which was nice. Got some good grapefruit citrus mixed in as well to give it some depth. Very simple and easy drinking pale ale. Little hop bitterness in the clean finish. Pretty decent. maniac (2023), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2008 On tap at Ballast Point during the RBSG Pub Crawl Tour on 08/01/2008. Slightly hazy golden body with a medium creamy off-white head. Big floral hoppy aroma. Mildly grassy and floral hop flavor. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. gotbeach (121), San Diego, California, USA Aug 13, 2008 RBSG08 tap. Amber pour with nice dim. head. Fruit, hop, citrus. There is an "airy" dryness to it which is very light and easy to drink with nice flavors. beerguy101 (3547), Newark, California, USA Aug 10, 2008 Tasted on tap at brewery during the RBSG 2008. This pale ale pours a medium amber color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is grapefruity and floral. A medium to lighter bodied Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. A touch of peach as well. Light and refreshing. Good flavors, at 3.5% alcohol this would be a great session ale. I could see drinking this on the porch on a warm summer afternoon. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
