COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten different malts and six different hops (Ahtanum, Cluster, and Spalt to name a few) combine to create this full-flavored, small beer. Even Keel features a silky malt backbone and a bright hop flavor and aroma that come from the late kettle additions and dry hopping with 1.5 pounds per barrel. Even more layers of flavor are created with fermentation being done by two strains of yeast. This session ale is herbaceous with additional citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit. The orange to copper hue draws you in and the low alcohol volume keeps you coming back for more.

On tap at Stone Fantastic session ale. Low abv, but not a "light" beer by any means. Aroma is piney hops, hops, and more hops. Taste is very bready, almost woody. Nutty. Pine and citrus hop flavors dominate, but do not overwhelm. Highly carbonated, pretty full bodied for a low gravity beer. Excellent.

Draft at sb. Pours a crystal cear medium amber with a loose whitish head. Big sweet tangy nose, showing pineapple and grapefruit. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, pineapple, and grapefruit mid palate. Beautiful light body and very clean. Nice light finish.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2014 12 oz can. Pours a copper color with a small off-white head that slowly fades to a fine film. The aroma is fairly strong and features grapefruit and lemons. The taste is more lemons and grapefruit set in a biscuit malt base. The palate is just bit thinner that I would prefer and the carbonation is lively. Finishes medium in duration and leaves a citrus aftertaste. Overall: First rate Session IPA.

Clear copper with small bubbly head. Nice aroma of light roast and spicy hops. Very spicy bite, caramal and slightly bready malt base with very spicy, piney, slightly resiny hop bite, long mild bitter finish. Very pleasant surprise for a beer labeled "session ale," i was expecting bland and boring.

Tap at TJs. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a creamy Off white lacing head. Aroma of tea, fresh orange hops, bready malt. Hoppy and fresh. Flavor of fresh hops, pine, tea, floral notes. Bready and nutty malt profile.

A draft pint at Capone’s Fresh Hop Fest. Had to try this after seeing the good ratings on Ratebeer, and I have to concur. A 3.5% beer is not one I’d be inclined to order, but this one is different. The lack of malt body in the beer is compensated for by the hops which result in a beer that is as tasty as many 6.5% IPAs around. Leave it an excellent San Diego brewer to produce the first low alcohol beer I’d ever want to buy a six-pack of!

Caramel orange, off white cover. The aroma is toast, perfume, citrus hops. The taste is largely the same, very floral and perfumey, light bodied but expected at the ABV level. This beer is fantastic and would make an amazing session if it weren’t for the $5.50 price for the pint.

Draft. Gold with a white head. Light flowery and citric hops on a grainy and lightly sweet malty base. Could use a few more aromatic hops, but damn this is awesome for how low in alcohol it is. I love that brewers are starting to make beers like this more regularly.

My kind of APA-great hoppy flavor. Well balanced, great session brew, does have a lot of personality for a beer that is only 3.8%. Interesting, some complexity as well.

tap. aroma of clean dank citrusy hops with a pleasant tropical fruit tangerine sweetness to round things out. nice balance. not too bitter, not too sweet. worked pretty well. not terribly potent aroma, but very easy to drink. good job at the session hoppy pale ale style.
