COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lager meets IPA in a winning combination.

Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Draught @ Haket. Pours golden with a frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is fruity with white bread, overripe tropical fruits, moist grass, grapefruit hard candy, lemon zest, soil and pine needles. Taste is sweet and fruity with white bread, mango purée, pineapple juice, moist grass, moist soil, pine needles, resinous wood, cereal, lemon hard candy, lemon zest, orange peal and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, soft, slightly astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and fruity with white bread, overripe tropical fruits, grapefruit rinds, resinous wood, moist grass, lemon peal and wine gums. Interesting but I imagine it’s much better if it hasn’t been forced to travel all the way here before being served...

Smell is clean, fresh and slightly fruity. Orange gold pour. Taste is hoppy but not too bitter. Some orange and malt flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Basically tastes like a pale ale. Good

Lager malts, IPA hoppning. Good bite, aromatic hops, body and malt backing that is fullbodied lager. Creates a body that is a bit thin. But all in all an interesting beer!

651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, we’ll retained ivory head, with some lacing, over a clear medium amber (SRM 12) body......nose is light pine, slight citrus from the hops, cereal, light toffee/caramel from the malts.......taste is light toasted malts, with cereal, biscuit tones, honey tones, along with pine, light citrus from the hops leading to a moderately bitter but lingering, clean finish.....mouth feel, body light medium, slightly sticky, alcohol hidden, light clean acid on the finish. This is a slightly light take on an IPA. It is nicely balanced, is very clean, but lacks a bit of the malt depth found in the best of this very broad style. I would suggest a slight increase in the number of malts used. What would this be like with a bit of rye? BJC P 8/3/15/5/7

22oz bottle. lively clear pale orange with a large, whipped white head. peach, pale malt, marshmallow aroma. a lager smoothness with a clean bittering and long hoppy finish. the body seems slightly more full with the lager yeast. i like the bitterness level.

Very good beer. Nice citrus pine flavors in a nice crisp and refreshing lager.
