3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jamesthebrit (54) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - JUN 14, 2013
A: Clean like a lager but has some hop backbone. Light
A: Pours clear goldenrod color with a good amount of carbonation.
T: Hops hops hops! Very bitter from start to finish. There is the clean ricelike lager backing but the hops really stand out. A bit out of control with the balance here.
P: Very crisp.
Overall this is an interesting go at blending a lager style with some hop bitterness but it comes out unbalanced. Hops overpower and the finish is aggressive.

My first of this style on tap at Victory in Berlin NJ. Pours a nice amber with a small head. Citrus and fruity aroma over a malt base. The flavor has the malt sweetness and some fruit balanced with a good deal of hops. The beer is very smooth and very easy going down.

Darker gold with good, creamy, white head, light legs / Rich, fruit nose of orange peel, pineapple, coconut, cream / Medium to full body, sweet but with lots of bitterness / Fruity but stylish flavors of orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, coconut, cream, pine, mint / I don’t understand the significance of the name, but a fine ipa.

Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Looks good for the style; a transparent orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells and tastes solid; hoppy with a light, lagerish body. Solid beer.

On tap. Clear golden color, slightly orange amber. Good thin slightly off-white head with good retention, leaves good bits of lace. Medium to bigger body. Good, smooth, crisp carbonation. Some citrus, pine, big west coast style hops. Bigger bitter taste. Some doughy malt. Not much about it suggests that it might be a lager. Would have no idea had it not been in the name. This new wave of hopped up lagers is forcing me to rethink the style. A solid IPL. Good to enjoy with a sandwich.

Clean and crisp. Nice bitter bite that is very short lived on the palate. Has a mild hoppy citrus nose but very milld.
