Lager meets IPA in a winning combination.

Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Taste is predominantly citrusy hops and caramel malts; which concludes in a clean, cold lager-like finish. Very drinkable, but towards the end of the session it just reminded me of any other American IPA, and I kind of had forgotten that I was actually drinking a lager.

Pours a clear gold on tap with bubbly white cap of head. Aroma is clean and fruity, sweet citrus. Taste follows with a hint of biscuit on the back end. Easy to drink with the crisp lager finish. Impressive for the style, but not sure I can hop on this train yet.

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a clear gold with a slight orange hue and a white head htat dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a really nice citrus pine combination with resin underlying and a touch of earthy grain. Flavor has a really nice pine and citrus combination as well as grapefruit coming through.

This is a great twist! Pours from the tapas nice golden amber with a lacy head that dissipates somewhat quickly. Smells floral and citrusy with pine notes. Tastes of grapefruit, pith, a bit of salt, and some bell pepper. Finishes cleaner than most IPAs, with only a little stickiness and a creamy citrus aftertaste.

Brilliant gold beer with a copper tint and a giant foamy white head. Smells malty. Tastes mostly so as well with the hops in the background. Might as well be a 4.2% English mild crossed with a Czech pils and a bushel of hops thrown in dry. A very complicated beer.

Draft at Keystone - Clifton. Pours a clear gold with a small white head that leaves some legs of lace. The aroma has pale and sweet malts, grassy hops, straw, maybe some sweetened breakfast cereal. Flavor of lemon, tea, hay, dry grains - really dry, a little sweet. Light-medium bodied, bigger in the back end, with modest carbonation. Some phenols, which I always seem to get with this style. Drinks under 7%. Not bad.

Pours a golden color with a clear body and a medium sized lacy white head. Notes of lemon, pine, fresh air, and flowers. Medium weight body. Pretty good

On tap poured into a 4oz sample glass. Very light aromas of sour lemon citrus and pine. It pours a slightly syrupy, but clear honey gold with a light soapy head that reduces to a thin, wispy layer, but leaves a light lace on the way down. Itís a medium, maybe medium high bitter beer with a nice balancing from a medium-light citrus sweetness. Itís a crisp, medium-full bodied beer with soft carbonation. It finishes clean and dry with some pine notes, and dried citrus in the brief aftertaste.

Grain and grass dominate the first sniffs, giving way to pine and hints of citrus. A clear amber pour with a thin white head which quickly becomes a lasting ring. Malt, grain, hay, pine and notes of citrus combine to make this a satisfying taste experience. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, a very tasty larger. Nice balance of malts and hops.

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a beautiful golden with off white head. Aroma of slight grapefruit. Taste of upfront slight bitter with citrus undercurrent.
