Lager meets IPA in a winning combination.

Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Tap at Ballast Point. The beer pours to a glowing golden body with a white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor is bitter hops with a dash of sulfur. Lots of grains like an artisan bread. The palate is bitter and medium bodied.

Bottle at the chriso May 2014 tasting - London. Pours perfectly clear gold with a creamy white head. Great aroma with notes of tangerine, grapefruit and pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with light bitter citrus rind, some herbal hops, anise, ripe citrus, white bread. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly bitter, with mellow marmalade, ripe orange, grapefruit rind. Very decent.

One of the better IPLs out there in my humble opinion. Manages a delicate balance of bready malts and intensely aromatic and fruity hops. Bitter leaning, but not overly so. "

Super generous pour at brew haha - nose is lemon peel. Sip adds caramel and strong grass. Bitter but mellow. Easily a summer brew.

Quite dry. Grapefruit and pine, a lot of pine. Feels drier than normal IPAs. Very easy drinking, and very light, and nice piney notes.
