Lager meets IPA in a winning combination.

Our Fathom India Pale Lager combines time-honored lagering techniques with the hop profiles of a West Coast IPA recipe. The cold-fermenting lager yeast provides a clean base that allows the citrus and pine aromas from the hops to really shine. The result is a gold medal beer with a refreshing, easy drinking character and just the right amount of depth.

Bottled; color is light yellow with a golden center, lively carbonation produces a fine textured head with lacing. Aroma is grains/cereal, dry pine wood, apricot and orange and grapefruit citrus. Interesting flavor that has highlights of both cereal, biscuit and apple notes typical of lagering that transitions into a slap-in-the-face dose of peppery hops. Im really enjoying this one; the lack of the typical malty sweetness of a San Diego IPA leaves nothing but unadulterated hop flavor. A great deviation from the west coast IPA by a great brewery. I could drink this ALL DAY during a summer beach outing here in San Diego...

Can. Clear golden with off white head. Massive hop aroma of lemon zest, lime, tangerine and pine. Sweet malt flavour with bread and grain present finishing in great hoppy bitterness. Far from regular lager beer, but what is regular anyway these days? I enjoy more crisp flavour in this to separate it from an ale.

Nice light hoppy aroma come from this clear yellow beer with a white head. Bitter at first then hoppy flavor followed by sweet malt. Its medium bodied brew good carb. A bit heavier bodied for a lager and a bit sweeter but a decent drink.

Bottle. Pretty amber with a tall, dense, foamy tan head. Aroma is hoppy and floral with soft citrus, malt notes and light caramel. Taste is malty with light grains, citrus, floral notes and faint pine. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more malt notes, light biscuit, citrus, floral hops and soft pine.

Lovely aroma, very fresh. Hops, vanilla, citrus and sweet licorice. Distinctive bitterness. Very nice mouth-feel, rich and "creamy". Long, hoppy finish. I don’t buy IPA’s very often, but this beer might change that!

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
