Pors rather clear amber/orange. Small white head. Smell is intense ! tropical fruit, very crispy maltyness in the back. THIS is how a hoppy beer should Always smell like ! Taste is sharp, bitter, much maltcrisp, some green hops, some pine. Some tropical fruit. The taste here, is nothing less than awesome. The minor factor is def the body. It’s a very wattery beer. the intensity of the taste is quite good, compared to the body, but a thicker beer would also amplifie the intensity to make it truly great. the imperial version of this ( please, make it alike, only thicker ) would be - if it existed - one of my top favorite beers, i think !

Flaska. Dimmig orange med ett vitt mot smutsvitt skum. Dofter och smaker av passionsfrukt, grapefrukt, sommaräng, persika och tall. Beska/sötma välbalanserad. Mycket trevlig.

Poured a translucent mid-amber with a two-finger beige coloured dense foam head that retained very well and laced very well. Carbonation low, slow and fine. Aroma of strong grapefruit and moderately strong pine; quite hops driven for a pale ale. Taste of caramel malts plus moderately strong pine and grapefruit; hops a bit more subdued than in the aroma. Light to medium body. Crisp and slightly dry with a moderate length nice citrus hops bitterness on the finish. Good.

Aroma - mixture of piney and pungent hops. Appearance - the body is a slightly hazed amber. The head is about 1 1/2" and settles slowly. Taste - has a mix of slight pine, pungent, and a dash of citrus hops. Malt is caramel in nature. Palate - light to medium body, texture is slightly oily, carbonation is average, and the finish bitter and medium in length.

Smells of pine and citrus. Crisp mouthfeel. Slightly bitter aftertaste. A touch on the one note mouthfeel, needs a little more creamy fullness somehow. A touch tart/sour in a not good way.

355ml bottle. Fruity aromas. Bitter peach and orange. Flavour has grapefruit, orange, apricot. Little biscuit in there too. This is big and hoppy without much attempt at balance or subtlety. Pretty good.

Bottle pouring clear golden brown with partial white head. A popping aroma of caramel, floral, spice and dried fruit. Sweet but balanced with some bite. Clean APA. Love the initial citrus hop while it finishes biting spice.

Bottle from Beer Cartel 041016. As with all of the Ballast Point beers that i have had the pleasure to drink this one is super tasty and probably the best that I have had. Good solid body with plenty of tropcal fruit flavours and aromas.
