On tap at Beachwood BBQ, Seal Beach, poured into shaker pint. Appearance is clear orange-amber with a finger and a half of white head that lasts and leaves patchy lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, mango, pineapple, pine, and biscuit malt. Taste is hoppy citrus bitterness with a fading pine note followed by a balancing malty sweetness. Medium bodied, slightly oily texture, average carbonation, just to the bitter side of balanced on the finish.

One of my top 5 pale ales. Really fruity and nicely hoppy. Pours yellowish orange. Has a nice citrus finish. Had at work of beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at happy gnome. Pint glass. Gold with white head. Smells slightly fruity. Hop is slight . Some bitterness and almost sour for an pale ale . Could be a bit bland, but the taste lingers. Don’t love it.

Really good pale ale. Poured a clear copper-amber with no head. Lots of fruit in the aroma. Flavor had a lot of citrus--grapefruit, especially--and other fruit notes. Nice, strong biting hop bitterness. Very tasty and satisfying beer.

Tap at FWIBF. Pours a light orange with soapy white head. Aroma is peach and mosaic through and through. Taste is a light stone fruit, hay, sweet and slightly roasted sugar. Crazy good pale ale.

Tap. Aww hell yeah. Rich orange pour with a small soapy head. Citrus and resin aroma. Calypso and Mosaic - a couple of my favorite hops are front and center in this one. Smooth palate, not bitter at all, just full flavored and wonderful. Ballast Point can really nail pale ales.

Taste comprises sharp orange, mandarin, straw, juicy hops, pink grapefruit, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, juicy hop linger in a crisp conclusion. Solid APA.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2014 Spectacular aroma with full bodied taste in a medium strength brew - what’s not to like (well, since you ask, a Belgian yeast version maybe)?

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours golden amber with a white head. Fruity aroma. Med body or better. Flavor is a lot of fruit hop - but it’s pretty bitter. Decent caramel backbone. Gets a bit roasty with time. Hop sticks to the tongue. Very hop forward APA. Tasty. Very.

Pours a clear golden orange on tap with big fluffy off-white head that lasts to leave moderate lace. Aroma is big on the resinous hops, citrus and tropical notes. Taste follows, hoppy and refreshing, just a barely there pale malt base. Slight bitterness, good carbonation, very nice.

Pour on tap at Black Bottle, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange peel, grass, hints of pine, dank notes into some sweet orange, grapefruit notes, slight yeasty and spicy notes as well. Taste is a mix of biscuit, bread, some orange, grapefruit, some pine, grass, earth, hints of white fruit into a bit of spice, finishing bitter.
