3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2015 On tap at Beachwood BBQ, Seal Beach, poured into shaker pint. Appearance is clear orange-amber with a finger and a half of white head that lasts and leaves patchy lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, mango, pineapple, pine, and biscuit malt. Taste is hoppy citrus bitterness with a fading pine note followed by a balancing malty sweetness. Medium bodied, slightly oily texture, average carbonation, just to the bitter side of balanced on the finish.

Good earthy aroma that is also spicy and hoppy. The taste is perfect to a pale ale. The hops are there all throughout each sip, but are never overwhelming or overly bitter. Well done from dogfish head. I knew I would like this one.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Burger Mania in Ebisu. Clear oraange with a nice soapy head. Strawberry, grapefruit and passion fruit aromas present with some dankiness present. Taste is more of the same with the strawberry disappearing as it warms. The grapefruit really stands out. Not overly bitter and wonderful in summer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into an IPA glass showing dark amber with half a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows grapefruit and mango with lighter notes of pine and cannabis in the background.
The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. The flavors are very clean and straight forward. Dry lightly tart pineapple notes throughout. Very light bitterness on the end.

Garlic nose with a background of melon. Murky orange. Mouth is more garlic, high hop funk, some grapefruit, some melon. Pretty wild for a pale ale.

Bottle. Pale coppe in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of tropical melon, pomelo, quack grass, chive, and black pepper. Super hop forward in the mouth with lots of wild grass and exotic citrus fruit notes. Light bodied with a sharp bitterness. Delicious!

12 oz bottle poured. Pours an oily golden color with a thick foam head and lace. Has a nice, piney earthy hop aroma. Very inviting aroma into a delicious pine hop flavor. Medium body. Long finish on the sweeter side. Very refreshing, well done pale ale. Awesome.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Clear orange with a short white head. Aroma is sharp pine sap, resin, garlic, butter, hamster cage / pee. The hops are almost at that rancid cheese moment. Medium-light body, sweet, watery, thin, empty with a lightly acidic and sour finish. Limp and lifeless.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Nose lovely rind and dense tropical fruit, paper and pineapple, pine, pear, dank, touch sweat, really, really interesting aroma. Touch of caramel coming through as well. Pours orange-golden, clear with a soapy beige head. Crisp, tart attack in the mouth, medium-full body with strong but not extreme bitterness, lots of juice and lots more citric oil, very oily, heavy pine with some grass, strong melon in the the wood/paper, dry and attenuated with a bit of scratch/spice in the back, bitter grapefruit. A touch of the onion/diesel bite some people love, especially in the finish. Malt a bit simplistic but enough to hold up the heavy hops. Really like the hop combo, especially the unusually layered bitterness. Overall very nice.
