4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap in the gas lamp dist. Pours clear light carmel color with thin white head. Aroma is kind of muted from regular sculpin. Flavor is up front heat and hops. Coats the tongue but clears right after with just a lingering heat. I love the combo of ipa and spice. Great beer.

2.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
3/11/15. Bottle. Sorry, not my idea of a beer. Pepper instantly burned out my palate. Couldn't taste a thing after the first sip. Totally respect Brewers for pushing boundaries but don't ask me to drink all of them. Someone must like it otherwise they wouldn't be charging $14 a six. Glad I only bought one bottle.

Very interseting spin on one of my all time favorites. Aroma is of pepper, habanero, heat. Pours an amber orange with a medium head. This beer packs a punch! was definitely surprised by the strong heat. More of a novelty, I love spicy foods but can harld fnish one bottle

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Gold with a decent amount of carbonation and thin white head. Peaches, waffles, vegetal and dried peppers. Momentary malty sweetness before the big peppery burn kicks in. Body is heavier with a soapy feel. Not too spicy, but almost enough to make you want a non-spicy beer chaser.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2015 Amber with a dense, slightly off white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops, with some spice, and malt sweetness. Taste of the base beer is like an IRA, but the habanero chimes in right away. It’s spicy in a cinnamon fashion on the tongue, but you feel it at the very back of your throat. I love excessively spicy food, but no way I’d buy a six of this. $3/12oz

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Not being a huge fan of the Habanero pepper, I wondered if it was going to be a mistake to even try this brew. I don’t think it was a mistake, although I like the pepper more than the brew. Only because I could do more with the pepper.
This pours a ripe apricot color with a soft off-white foam. The pepper is apparent and tickles my nostrils without hesitation. The brew smells just like the experience with my first raw Habanero. Bland and spicy. There’s nothing to the flavor of this for me except earthy, vegetal heat. Any other aroma is lost in the pepper. The taste is also corrupted by the burn in the brew. A swallow is uncomfortable and boring, but after a few minutes the afterward is actually quite nice. Enjoying the taste and flavor after some of the beer has burned off and I can use my taste buds again. I am not a fan of this as a stand alone brew, but I think with a Cobb Salad, or some type of cool meal, it would be an asset. I’ll look for it again when I can taste it with something it can accent.
