COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

Draft at Misconduct. Hazy orange amber with solid white foam. Nice lace. Looks innocent enough. Tastes like the devil. The habanero is not shy! Blankets the sky! Napalm back to front. Oh the humanity! As harsh (and as good) a hot spicy beer as I have ever had. Prepare for tears!!!

Bottle from Wine warehouse. Pours golden amber with Ace somewhat decent frothy beige head. Smells of citrus and light vegetation, I suppose that could be the pepper but it doesn't necessarily smell like pepper. Taste. Oh that made me catch my breath. Initial puckering followed by a deep breath and A lot of heat going down the throat. I am not a huge fan of spicy food because I like to taste the separate flavors in the my food and it's similar with this beer, but this is quite enjoyable in a completely different way.main flavor is the pepper, spicy, but there's also a hint of citrus peel that is mostly overshadowed by the heat of the pepper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33cl @ Ville ja Vilja. Pours slightly hazy orange, small head. Fruity hops in the aroma. Caramel, hops in the flavor. AFTERTASTE BURNS LIKE NAPALM

Provided a nice balance between the warmth from the habanero and the crispness of a good IPA.

Very nice aroma. Habaneros up front with nice citrusike hops in the background. The flavor is ultimately dominated by the heat which lingers. Gimmicky beer. It works but the heat is a little too strong for me to give this a high rating. I can’t imagine drinking more than one of these

Bottle from Beer and Wine. Golden body. Nose is hoppy, spicy and some citrus. Taste is again very hoppy with citrus and spicier notes in the middle. Nice texture. Floral finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden thin off white head. Very nice citrus aroma dominates. Medium sweet taste. Medium-light body, smooth texture, spicy finish that burns the roof of my mouth and throat. Punishing yet intriguing.

Ahh, this is a smell I like. Reminds me of that south african chili mead I loved to sniff so much, the pepper here has a nice floral and spicy kick and blends well with the herbal citrus hops. Flavor is definitely a challenge, as this tastes like an IPA down deep but that’s a lot of serious chili heat dominating front to back. Fun and one of the better built chili beers, but in the end I can’t see this as much more than a one time try, a novelty, and it can’t score highly because of it.

Poured from the bottle. Sunshine yellow amber with some bottle bits floating. The nose has a pepper hit, tough to seek much else out. The first taste is full of habanero...and it’s fantastic...Not to much heat, but loads of pepper taste...hard to find that flavor without enduring an immense burn in most formats. A going to swill a six pack....Definitely not...’but I really enjoyed the experience.

Flaska.
