2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Well crafted beer but not for me. I love the tropical notes and balance in sculpin. The addition of the peppers to that base really throws the whole thing out of whack. Not much heat on the aroma but the taste is overwhelmingly habanero. Just a big fat kick of heat. I get it, I just don't like it.

Hazy cider brown pour. Aroma of peppers, obviously. Very spicy, notes of cream, fruit and caramel. Not much beyond the spice.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2015 Pours a gold, with inch of creamy head, good lacing. Spicey pepper heat aroma with sculpin ipa hops, good fruit- almost bublegumy, resin, chaulky sweetish malt. Same in taste, a lot of heat, gets the whole mouth lips throat tongue, nice. A lot of heat bitter is mixed up with the heat but more a heat bitter. Best pepper beer Ive had, good sculpin character in this, the grapefruit was not as ipaish but more just grapefruit, as this seems to have the whole sculpin character yet the pepper is equally strong. I still cant have pepper beers to often, they tend to get put in the back and drank last. Strangly enough as it warmed I got some blueberry flavor under the intense pepper. Paired with homemade soaked flour bread, veganaise mayo, with pasture raised- colbly cheese homegrown tomatoe, cucumber with onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and corn on the cob with butter pepper garlic and sea salt. No meat, it will be all right. No fucking msg. What a bunch of rating pussies.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Intense habanero flavor with citrus peel. Firery finish. Wow this is a hot one.

355 mL bottle. Looks like Sculpin. Wouldnít really guess there are habanero peppers in here from the aroma. But the flavour . . . wow! No holding back here. Too much, really, as the heat overwhelms everything else.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Itís different, thatís for sure. It pours orange with a little head, like other versions of Sculpin. The aroma is more or less like regular Sculpin, with the addition of spices, black pepper. The flavor is big on hot habanero. Thatís really all I can taste. It isnít bad, but it isnít what I really want in a beer.

Bottle. Bottled on: 05/06/15 (I think). A slightly hazy amber pour with a thick and creamy beige head. Lots of grapefruits, resiny pine, spicy chili peppers, zesty citrus rinds, and caramel feature in the aroma. Goes down relatively full-bodied. Caramel malts upfront in the taste. Grapefruits and zesty citrus rinds at the end. TONS and TONS of FRESH peppers provide a hot/spicy kick from start to finish. This beer packs more peppery burn than any other Iíve had. Soooo hot!! This brew has been like crack to me and my girlfriend. Weíve gone through case after case this summer. Even after months in the fridge, this bottle still packs a wallop of hot peppery goodness.

This is actually very hot. The aroma has a hint of heat but could be mistaken for regular sculpin. The regular IPA comes through, followed by the heat. Some chili fruitiness comes through if you look for it and can keep your palate focused. A very intense beer. Probably the best possible execution of the habanero concept, but Iím glad I bought it as a single. Not sure what to pair this with; maybe cheese or a chocolate mousse?

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ the brewpub, Miramar. Aroma has sweet fruity tones, pineapple juice and hints of habanero. Flavour has sweet fruitiness and fruit candy that soon turns into burning habanero. Also some vegetable tones. Very long lingering burning tones here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ Ballast Point Miramar, San Diego, CA
Pours clear orange with a small head. Aroma of juicy fruits, zesty grapefruit, lemon, hints of spices and grass. Taste is smooth, hoppy and grassy with some spicy notes. Finish is warming with loads of chili notes, spices, hops and grass. Quite heavy. A total palate wrecker.
