Draft. Wow. Smells like an IPA but tastes like a beer with kick. More kick than I've had in a beer yet.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle share at Hampton Inn pre-DLD party. Pour is hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is of pine needles, resin, citrus, and crackers. The habanero comes through in the flavor - caramel, citrus, spice, peppers, bitterness. The heat lingers, but isnít too strong while tasting.

Burn in the throat not much hop aroma. Very nice burn. Good balance to the sculpin. Nice head.

On tap at capitol beer. Aroma is hops and pepper. Taste starts malty and hops and quickly turns to hot pepper ash tray.

Golden with a white head - Hot peppery aroma with perhaps a hint of hop - the taste is just hot liquid peppers that stings - The hotness just goes into a long finish that is olmost never ending - This was just a pepper liquid that stings and just dont taste anything else than pepper, and it was not that good either

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap flight at the brewery. Filtered golden pour with a thick, foamy, white head. Aroma is meaty habanero with earthy hops. Taste is green ancho chile flesh, hops, and faint heat. Apparently earlier batches were much spicier. Not what I was expecting but quite tasty. I donít recognize the Sculpin as much as I recognize the fresh chile flavors. Good beer

Loved this because it held all the flavor profile of the awesome Sculpin IPA and added a zing of heat to it without being overpowering.

Hunahpus day. Clear orange pour with a small head. Aroma was big time citrus and pine. No peppers on the nose. Flavors were big and hoppy up front with a biting pepper heat on the finish. It was hot but it came and went in quick fashion. Rather excellent.

Tap at Savor. This was just overall wonderful stuff. The habanero spice and heat really integrate well with the west coast boisterous IPA style. Citric and spicy with a slightly spicy hot finish. Pour me another!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer has eluded me for YEARS. Iíve heard it on tap at no less than 5 beer/pizza bars in the last 7 years and NEVER have I gotten to try it until tonight. Ballast Point tap take over at Bru! Pours a clear golden with light white foam in a 3oz tater. Aroma is IPA with very minimal pepper odor. Taste, holy CRAP this is habanero fruit! The chilli fruit is there right away and then the regular floral, citrus and slight pine comes in to showcase the sculpin. The habanero heat doesnít really come into play until the beer goes down you throat where it is a nice heat. Overall, radtastic pepper beer that Iíd totally drink a pint of. Indeed jalapeno probably still beats it out but that was with fresh peppers. Still, love this!
