4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft for a very short time at the Whole Foods Fair Lakes in Virginia - Iíve been told this was the only keg in the state. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head, just like the regular Sculpin. Aroma was citrus, some light biscuit malt notes, no pepper spice notes to speak of. However, the flavor is something else, the flavor is some citrus hops, but with a ton of lasting heat backing, not too burning, but a pleasant, lasting heat that packs a slightly mean punch.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
From bottle, pale slightly couldy copper orange with off-white head. Nose is peppers, fruit, oranges, grapefruit. Medium body, slight caramel sweetness, slight bitterness, heast starts at the back of the throat and builds through the beer, ending with the while mouth burning. Moderate to high spiciness for beer, well done.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Sendikís in Brookfield. Pours a clear orange with an off-white head. Nose had fresh sweet grapefruit and some pine. Taste is heavily peppery without much other stuff underneath. There is some citrus in the very beginning of the mouthfeel and perhaps in some sweet malt, however pepper is the main component and pepper is the strong finish. Medium-bodied and a bit sticky. Finishes long and peppery with a bit of bitterness. This is interesting, with a great nose, but the pepper is too overwhelming. 14.2

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
12oz bottle. Looking at reviews, this is a polarizing beer. Iím a huge pepper/heat fan, so not surprisingly I fall on the positive side. The other side consists of wimps. If youíre a pansy who canít take the slightest bit of heat, just donít drink a habanero beer! The appearance is average, orangish-golden with a fast-fading one-finger head. The aroma has grapefruit and tropical fruit notes with a hint of habanero. The flavor has great heat! Iím glad they didnít hold anything back. It matches well with a slightly sweet malt base and bright fruity hoppiness. The palate is really nice. Medium-bodied and crisp with a burning sensation. This is freaking badass! I love it and would drink it all day. Wimps need not apply.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Smallish head. Light ruby red body. Not a very potent aroma. A bit of happiness. But, no pepper to be found. Quite the contrary 8n the flavor. An immediate blast of habend flavor followed by some heat on the palate. Absolutely ZERO balance. While this wonít be drain pour, itís certainly not one Iíll drink again unless someone buys it for me and doesnít tell me what it is.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
March 28, 2015 - taster pour at the Rare Beer Fest in St. Paul. Clear golden pour with some head. Glad I tried this here and didnít get a six pack as this would be rough to drink more than a couple ounces.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, aged grapefruit hops, and a touch of pepper heat that I wouldnít notice if I didnít know this Habanero Sculpin. It pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus and aged grapefruit hops. The finish has moderate-heavy habanero pepper heat that really lingers on the tongue and back of the throat. Itís light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this much pepper heat just doesnít make sense to me in an IPA. Itís not so much bad as it is a simple question of "Why????"

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: APR 1, 2015 Bottle: Thanks, Darsh. Toasted golden-amber with a very faint haze, mellow white head fades quickly. Aroma has lots of earthy hops, faint pine, florals, a touch of peppery spice, light honey, & some grapefruit. Not as spicy on the nose as Iíd expect. The flavor, though... WOW. Habanero jumps out like a tiger. Some grassy & earthy hops at first, but the pepper heat rushes in quickly. After that, all you can taste is spicy pepper. Maybe a hint of earthy-pine but the pepper reigns supreme, through & through. One dimensional once the peppers take over; then itís CURTAINS, son.

Man you guys are pussies. This heat is perfect. Unfortunately it takes away from the hops. This also benefits from a fantastic base beer
