COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

From the bottle the pour is orange slightly cloudy with a thin white head, the aroma is sweet with a light pepper, the taste crisp citrus and a nice heat punch with a good sweetness to balance the heat, the mouthfeel is medium with a minor wheat/malt finish.

Deep orange body with some haziness, the cap is thick and pillowy, and it leaves some moderate lace. The peppers dont show in the aroma but hit about mid first drink, spicy but not overbearing, the tropical fruitiness of the hops are still in the picture. Overall a decent spiced beer but i still prefer the regular and grapefruit version.

Amber pour. Nose of slightly vegetal habanero pepper with some nose-twitching tinge. Minty pine and some peach. Holy habanero Batman! This one is spicy. Initial caramel malt before caving to big pepper flavor. Trailing notes of burn pepper, peach, and faint mango. Oh yeah! Pepper beer that gets the heat right.

Overall: Sweet fruity start, then a warm burning chili heat.

Clear orange-amber with a whitish head. Aroma of citrus, habanero, tropical fruit, peach, and bread. Taste is full of citrus with a nice, but relatively mild, dose of smokey habanero; that is, the flavor is there, but the heat is pretty light considering what it is. Medium bodied, average carbonation, medium hot. More please.

Pours clear orange with a small head. Aroma of juicy fruits, zesty grapefruit, lemon, hints of spices and grass. Taste is smooth, hoppy and grassy with some spicy notes. Finish is warming with loads of chili notes, spices, hops and grass. Quite heavy. A total palate wrecker.

Pours semi-clear golden yellow with a hint of orange. White head fades fast. Aroma is grapefruit and orange citrus hops with notes of peppery habanero. Warming brings in some sweetness. Taste has a very mild caramel malt backbone running under some bitter city's hops, by the star is the smokin' hab pepper! I gots a hot one. Spicy and peppery down the throat and it lasts a bit. A truly interesting beer. Don't think about having more than one. Style points for sure.

On tap at BrewDog Edinburgh, june 15th 2015. Hazy golden body, nice staying white head. Aroma of fresh tropical hops and hints of pepper. Taste is fruity with a strong yet crisp sting frm the habanero. Well balanced as it still leaves space for the beautiful hop character of the Sculpin. This one leaves a hot habanero sting lasting way into the next beer.

En mycket bra IPA i grunden, som kickar in med en rejäl habanero-fest. Jag gillar särskilt det faktum att mjölk och öl rekommenderas för att släcka törsten till kryddstark mat. Här får man så att säga allt i samma glas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I will preface thus by saying this wasn’t my favorite beer, however it is exactly as described and we’ll executed. Nose is earthy, floral, and dominated by habaneros. Thin white head, golden in color with sediment. Taste is habanero, habanero followed by a slight hop profile. Palate begins with some hop bitterness and then the tip of your tongue tingles and the heat sticks in the back of your throat. This bottle was pretty hot, probably wouldn’t want more than one. Might be good paired with spicy Mexican or Thai food.
