3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is hop obscured by pepper. Color was a bit pale for an ipa, but otherwise characteristic ipa orange with a large white head. Taste is immediately pepper, with a finishing hop sweetness. Palate is full of fun burn. Probably the best pepper beer I've had, butter than most pale pepper tries.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. The aroma is just like the base sculpin with juicy grapefruit, mild pine and peach. Pale malts, nicely juicy.
The flavor starts like the base brew and for me it still was kind of mild pepper tones for the first 3 oz. the heat then really stacked up and got overbearing. Dry texture with lingering heat. I have NEVER been a fan of pepper in my beer but it maybe ok for someone who really enjoys hot stuff.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 17/20
Strong grapefruit and tangerine nose, with a subtle pepper presence. Hazy amber, medium yellow head. Grapefruit, lemon, and a lot of pepper. Pine finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, hot. Not quaffable, but a fantastic sipper.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear orange pour with a nice lasting white head and good lacing. Aroma is habanero, citrus, and caramel. Taste is earthy peppers and citrus rind. There is a hint of malt sweetness. It is hot and the burn lingers for a long time. Would not recommend to anyone who doesn’t enjoy spicy stuff. Also, not a beer I will drink a lot of but I appreciate it for what it is and habanero is a nice pepper to go with Sculpin.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of standard Sculpin with citrusy and resinous hops, some pale malts with light notes of caramel, and some dough. Flavor the same but a very peppery, spicy finish. Average texture. Sort of a pointless beer since normal and grapefruit are so good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
4/18/2015 (bottle): I love Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin and the Habanero Sculpin is quite good, but the chili pepper really covers up all of the great hop flavors. This drinks like an good IPA with a hefty amount of jalapeno flavor and heat that comes in on top and grows with each sip. This reminds me a bit of spicy peach salsa. I like it, but it’s not a great chili beer. I’d much rather have a Sculpin or Grapefruit Sculpin and then a chili beer. This beer as a bit of a let down as it could have been an amazing thing; I think there is some room for improvement with it...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Gingerman. Hazy reddish gold pour. Citrus hops and pepper aroma. Nice clean malt with citrus hops and big spicy pepper taste. Really nice tongue numbing IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from MSM. Pours a somewhat hazy golden color. White head. Scent is citrus, pepper. Taste is also citrus at first. Then hops for half a second. Then the heat comes. Not overbearing but pretty strong. Tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an amber from a bottle. Aroma is of grapefruit, with some slight burning in my nose. Flavor is of nectarine, lemon, then the heat hits you a few seconds later. This bottle had some good heat, but nothing that would knock you down, just enough to make you stop and look at the glass, like, "Huh? Whoa." Very good beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark golden color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet pine, cactus and hot pepper. The flavor was pine, cactus, intense hot pepper and lots of sweetness to balance the heat. The hot pepper has an oiliness that sticks to the tongue. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
APPEARANCE – color of dark golden ale. Pure white head has light & foamy characteristics and is persistent.
NOSE – smells of a mild IPA. Not very fruity or resiny, it’s well balanced and not terribly strong.
FLAVOR – well balanced IPA in the front and all spice all the way down the throat. Very good example of an extreme chili beer. This by far packs the most heat I’ve tried (Stone Chipotle Smoked Porter, Rivertown’s Death from Cincy, and other modest offerings. I have NOT tried the infamous ghost pepper beer yet).
NOTES – Overall great beer. Thoroughly enjoy the IPA front and the heat in the back. Yet another excellent take on Sculpin from BP.
