SDbruboy (1807), San Diego, California, USA May 21, 2005 Special on cask at the brewery, a big highly hopped and dry hopped brew. Dark brown and almost opaque, with brick red highlights when held to light, had a thick orangey-beige head that left good lacing. Sweet caramelly malt aroma, with lots of piney, herby and citrus hops in the nose. Rich, sweet malty backbone with lots of brash and perky hops leaving a nice pucker. Smooth, medium to full body with mild carbonation and the wonderful cask mouthfeel. Nice brew overall and very enjoyable.
