Pours thick and black with a small tan head. Nose is lime, Mexican candy, curry, nutmeg and pepper. Taste is sweet at first then bitter and pleasantly so. Mouthfeel is soft and sticky, body is heavy and finish is long.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Where and how: on tap at Birch
Aroma: strong, even bold with plenty of Indian spice, yellow curry etc.
Top: small, tanned white cap.
Base: hazy brown
Palate : medium bodied.
Taste: frontal milk coconut followed by yellow curry spread on brown malt canvass. Not overly aggressive as I feared.
other notes quiet interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours basically black with a small but well retained head and not much lacing on the glass.
The aroma is cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, chocolate & coffee. Itís also got a bunch of other curry spice elements I canít single out. Suffice to say it sort of smells like some sort of interesting curried mocha, neat.
The flavor is really pretty curry heavy, but it retains the nice roastiness and bitter-espresso-like flavors that make it very stout like. Itís not especially sweet for what it is, but itís nowhere near being very dry. The beer seems to have quite a vanilla flavor going on along with cinnamon, cumin, and again the sort of load of spices that one might use in a curry, most of which Iím only vaguely familiar with (shame on my palate)
I just never expected such an oddity to come from a brewery Iíve always sort of associated with straightforward hoppy beers... guess I was in the dark, huh?

Taster. Dark black with tan head. Amazing aroma of curry and coconut. Flavors are complex, malt, coffee, caramel with curry and a little heat at the finish... Great flavors... Would love to cook with this beer... ( chili, curry or stew)

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a jet black color with some lacing but minimal head retention. Has an aroma of coconut and curry straight away. There is no mistaking what this is. Tastes like a punch of coconut curry right in the face. Has a spicy afterbite that is pleasant and not overwhelming. I love this!

Purchased 3/30/2015 enjoyed 10/31/2015 in a Hopslam tulip/snifter.
Look - Black thick body. Cold first pour yielded a finger of fine bubbled head. Warm pour not as much head. Settles to a ring. Blotchy lacing.
Smell - Chocolate. Pepper. Spice. Coffee.
Taste - Cummin. Curry. Pepper. Chocolate. Coffee. Coconut. Complex but not my taste.
Feel - Burns with spice, not alcohol. Thick.
Overall - Different. I like spice but not Indian spice. Wonít buy again. I even gave it 7 months to mellow.

Bomber at home with the core 3. Super interesting from first sip to last. Really well balanced between sweetness of dark malts and array of spices. Definitely sweet up front with some nice heat/curry at the end to temper it. Oily in the mouth. Pretty serious brew overall. Great.
