4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an opaque black from the bottle with thin brown head and light lacing. Aroma of lime, spicy curry, and roasted grains. Taste is freaking weird, but awesome, an indian curry explosion in a beer form. Chili picks up and coconut comes out more as it warms. Weird, awesome, I want more.

Bloody hell, why did I attempt to drink this by myself? Inky black with nil head. A definite spicy nose to the effect that the beer metaphirically headbutts you in the face with its cumin, coriander, coconut and lime leaf. If you’ve ever cooked a Penang curry, you’ll know what a frontal assault from these ingredients is like. It’s also fucking brilliant.
The flavour is similarly heady with much more Cayenne than expected. It blasts the palate. This will be the last beer this evening, not because of the abv, but because of the sheer wall of flavour. Wow.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 ounce bottle shared (thankfully). The beer is a darker brown color with a khaik colored head of foam. The aroma has predominantly curry spice, but after a little while I start to pick up some coconut and some chocolate. Sort of complex in that way, but you have to wade through the curry for some time to get there. Taste is a spicy curry with some coconut sweetness peaking through at times. Bigger bodied beer and medium carbonation. Not something I would want again, but might consider buying to cook with it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Coconut and kaffir on the nose. Really smells like a curry. Some chocolate and toast on the nose as well. The flavors work well together, but it is a novelty. Some chili.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I think I was too scared to rate the original Sev brought back from her "working jolliday" nearly two years ago. Apparently they’ve a few spares.
The nose is one the most ridiculously "on the nose" noses of Ratebeer nosdom. The coconut is always there, but there’s brushes of the lime leaf and then sweaty spice. It literally makes me hungry. My stomach did a wee loop-de-loop. Initial taste is...sorry back to the nose, there’s some blackcurrant notes and odd choc after the first few numbing sips. Rich, mutilated maltiness and a big roast. The spiciness, light drying nutty cumin sifting through. Lean and gritty curry buzz - spicy tang through and through. Yeeeesh. I’ve no idea how they managed to marinade this down to the hungry, active warmth going on here. I’m losing the plot here. If you find a bottle of this, slay it down - for the experience alone.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a jet black coloring with brown tints around the edges and no head whatsoever. Looks heavy and dense. Aromas of bittersweet baker’s chocolate enveloped in curry spices. Very interesting blending on the nose. Flavors are curry forward, with both spice and heat, followed by chocolate and coffee, both bitter and sweet, and then the beer transitions back into the spice and heat of curry. The aftertaste is bitter and warming, and the warmth lingers throughout the finish and for quite a while after, as well. The finish is slick and smooth. This is a very unique stout. worth a try especially if you like spicy food.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black colored, small to medium tan head. Aroma is very strong curry and spicy cuisine, coconut. Taste some caramel, bit of roasted malts and chocolate, coconut but mostly just the curry and other spices, quite hot and spicy. Dry roasted finish, some heat. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation. Everlasting spiciness. If you want a curry beer this is your beer. Me, I’m waiting for a seafood paella flavored one ffs...
