COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with madras curry, caynne pepper, cumin, toasted coconut, and kaffir lime leaf, Indra Kunindra is a 9% ABV stout brewed in collaboration with homebrewer Alex Tweet. It was brewed for Holiday Wine Cellar’s 46th Anniversary Homebrewers Competition. First batch at 9%, others at 7%.

The aroma is like an over-peppered can of V-8 juice! Peppers, spice and vegetables. Pours a solid dark dirt-brown with a tan ring and minimal lacing. The taste is multilayered and complex, but overall very peppery. Cayenne pepper dominates the flavor, but there is also a hint of sweetness provided by the coconut. A lasting "warm" aftertaste keeps the taste sensation going long after the swallow. Medium body and moderate carbonatin. Overall, who needs a spicy Bloody Mary when you’ve got this brew! Take care - little goes a long way.

What a trip of a beer. Pours an dark brown color with a large light brown head. Notes of curry, meat, smoke, chocolate, cumin, and vanilla. Hints of lime citrus on the back end. Warming spices on the finish. Not something to drink every day but definitely an interesting beer.

22 oz bottle shared by Debbie at Ale Alpharetta. Pours black, with a filmy tan head. The aroma is vanilla, curry spices, chocolate, cayenne pepper, and just a touch of citrus. The flavor is sweet up front, with a growing, fairly intense spicy warmth. The burn sticks around for quite a while, but didn’t completely ruin my palate. Heavy body, a little oily, with a clean finish. Overall, this is a wonderfully complex, spicy, and flavorful beer. I’ve had my fair share of spicy stouts, but this one stands out.

Bottle Pours black No real head Smells like cury . Taste is intense curry , bit bitter , some peppers ( gets intenser in the adtertaste . ) good to high carbo . Bit thin but ok for 7 abv . Too much curry in the aftertaste for me

Tulip draft at The Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, Florida. The pour is a deep brown black with a small khaki head. The aroma is lime initially, along with the cumin spice, curry and then a coconut toasted sweetness as the beer warms. The taste is bonkers, all of the component aroma flavors are blended cleanly (somehow) with spice, coconut and lime all adding complexity. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a dry lightly sweet coconut finish. Really well executed.

As a side note, I have been seeing this beer show up in search results for Indra for years, glad to have tried it for that reason alone.

Tap @ bishops arms, gamla stan, Stockholm. Near black, brown head. Wow, this is spicy stuff. Curry, lemon, cinnamon, you name it. Like Jookos said, walking into an a Indian spice shop. Inviting aroma. Flavor has got the same spices as well. Curry. Nice nice nice. Balanced. Maybe not something I would drink a pint of but a small glass is just great.

Draft at Ballast Point. Pours a pitch black with a tanned head. Nose has a fuck load of indian curry and coconut. Wow the curry is captured so well. Taste is more curry with slight dark chocolate and espresso. Subtle burn. Interesting stuff. B ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: curry, some coconut. Appearance: dark, hazy brown, small, beige, frothy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: intense spices curry dominating, peppery notes. Overall: very interesting spiced Stout. Pint at Ballast Point Brewery, San Diego.

Strange but well done. Definitely tastes like chai or something along those lines. Light caramel and roast. Pours black with good head and lacing. Spicy. Tap at blind tiger.

Black with tan head. Nose is full of floral spice, cumin, lime and coconut. Flavor is sweet spice, cumin, light coconut milk, and faint lime before fading to powdery roast, bitter chocolate and cayenne. Lingering roast and cayenne heat. Growing warmth. Not completely my thing, but can honestly say, one of the most unique beers I’ve had. Well made.
