Wow I wasnít expecting this. I should read the label. I quickly ordered Indian take out to complement the drink. Overall the beer is well balanced but I found the coconut missing and the curry a bit more forward than the rest. But surprisingly it tasted great. The beer is a but pungent and yeasty, like Firestone Walkerís big beers. Well done.

Pours Coca-Cola with quickly disappearing head. Aroma is straight-up curry. Itís my imagination, but I can almost smell the rice to go along with this beer. Mouthfeel is not too heavy, maybe a little less carbonation would be nicer. Flavors are big and all over the place. Coconut is easiest to find amongst the curry, with the cayenne providing a good bit of heat on the finish. Thereís a hint of lime/citrus on the finish.

4/22/2015 (draught at Martyís Hops & Vines in Cincinnati, Ohio): Whatís this? A CURRY beer?! Hell yeah! This beer is absolutely fantastic. Aroma is mostly curry with a bit of coconut as well. The flavor is very dynamic and changes from drink to drink and as the temperature of the beer goes up. Lots of curry at first and it stays throughout, but the coconut and lime definitely show more on subsequent tastes and when warmer. The cayenne adds a bit of heat that builds, but doesnít go over the top. Everything about this beer is right on point! I LOVE IT! I have a bottle of it that Iím looking forward to trying as well. Amazing beer!

I bought this with an open mind, not knowing what to expect. It smelled intriguing and complex. Looked dark like a stout. But the taste was of peppery coconut. Bleh. Not what i was looking for in a beer. Maybe it requires a pretentious food pairing? Idk but this beer is not for me.

22oz bottle pours dark brown black with medium offwhite head. Nose is strong spices, curry, pepper, some heat, lime, lemon, kind of smells like the game you play as a child where you dump everything in the spice rack into a cup of water and dare your friend to try it...Taste is curry-forward, medium-high cayanne heat, light cocoa dust, spicy chocolate, some tart citrus, Indian food. Finishes with hot spice heat, pepper, light lemony cocoa. Tastes better than it smells for sure, interesting concept and a fun interpretation of a spice stout...but not something I need more than 3-4 ounces of at most.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is STRONG notes of turmeric, turmeric, turmeric, turmeric, turmeric, cumin, cardamom, coriander, asafoetida, fenugreek, etc.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, extremely spicy.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic, moderately to heavily burning.
Well, this is easily the winner of the Most Overspiced Beer Of All Time. Even Fantome Strange Ghost in its worst years cannot compete with this. Itís curry powder in liquid form, period. No beer character can make it through at all. As much as I love extremely aromatic Indian food, itís utterly repulsive in this format. An experiment that went completely off the rails.

Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, cocoa, coconut, rich spice, & vanilla; Flavor of slight roasted sweet malt, chili peppers, curry, chocolate, and citrus (notably lime); Finish is quite hot; Interesting brew - but heat can be a bit much at times.

Tap at Happy Gnome. Black with a thin tan head. Coconut, lime, curry, chili paste and graham crackers. Sweet coconut that morphs into curry momentarily before a nice lingering peppery burn. Body is heavier with a creamy, fizzy feel. Awesome execution of curry in a beer, seems like you should side of naan.
