COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic German-Style Beer, Brewed in San Diego. Our Longfin Lager has become one of the go-to beers with the team at the brewery. A solidly balanced Helles inspired Lager with a clean, slightly hoppy finish that could easily fit in at any German beer garden. We think it’s perfect for enjoying on the beach, the boat or anywhere else you can put an ice chest full of beer.

13th May 2015: on tap in JFAT (Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern), Dana Point, Orange County. Clear golden pour with no head by the time the glass got to my table. Crisp, sharp feel to the beer, more grain than hop in both the aroma and taste, grassy dry finish. Went well with the spicy meatballs.

12 oz. can. Pours a medium, poorly retained white head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy straw (SRM 2) body....nose is light cereal, hints of white fruits (apple, pear), no esters, slight hop spice......taste is light cereal malts, slight sweetness, hints of light colored fruits, light hop spice, finishing with slight bitterness, balance....mouth feel, light almost watery body, no alcohol, high carbonation. The appearance is slightly off with the slight haze. Both aroma and flavor are within the style, but the body is too light. BJCP 7/2/13/4/6

This is a light lager that is smooth and fresh. Light looking that is great for san deigo beaches.

Bottle. Better than some standard domestic lager but that’s not saying much. Still rather plain.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes crisp and clean.

Bottle. Pours gold with a thin white head. Very much in the Helles-influenced grouping of American craft lagers, with mildly sweet bready malts, some grainy hints, and faint floral bitterness. Relatively clean and easy to drink.

Can. Pours clear, wan yellow with a thick and frothy but effervescent white head. Aroma is crisp and malty with a subtle fruity undertone. Flavor is malty, less fruity than the aroma - nothing special, but refreshing. Texture is weak and not very fizzy. Definitely not the brightest star in Ballast Point’s constellation, but will take the edge off a hot day.

Right away I get that grainy aroma I get from most lagers. This brew is super clear and super blonde with no real head. It's taste is grainy with slight sweetness and a very light bitterness. The body is slightly heavy for a lager in my opinion but it is a very decent brew.

Looks and smells fine but that's all. Grainy flavor. Far too sweet. Palate is heavy viscous. Not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of bottle at Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, mineral, vanilla into a bit of cracker, slight grassy, spicy notes in there. Taste was a mix of biscuit, bread, some slight grass, spice into a bit of minerals, finishing slightly dry, slightly bitter.
