2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I get this in 6 pack cans. Nothing glamorous here. It’s an easy drinking lager and I just had one right after a Tecate. Marginally better. Though I wasn’t expecting to be blown out of the water either. I’d only suggest dumbing down the price of a 6’er a little, especially if this is the intended nature of this beer. Don’t get me wrong, not a bad beer for a standard lager, but for $10.99 a 6 pack, I was hoping for something notable to write about. Doesn’t get me shit-housed like Big Eye, so that’s a plus. Still $4 cheaper than a 6 of Sculpin, so that’s good too. One little thing that irks me, however... the cans are packed so tight that it’s impossible to crack one open, even as slow as possible, without it spraying globules of beer over everything in an 8-12" diameter. I like the beer and I love LOVE Ballast Point beers, but I can’t return to this on the regular.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Pale. Straw. Yellow. Head? Yes. Retention? Not exactly. Nose? Piss. Taste? Grain. Summary: Boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring. Note: if this was a ’macro’ brew, it would have gotten a more interesting rating due to exceeding expectations, but seeing as Ballast Point (up to this point) hasn’t disappointed me, this one doesn’t deserve the creative energy of a real review. Yes, I’m currently drunk and normally a dickhead anyway.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
GABF 2013. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a lasting white head. A bit grassy, somewhat husky, lemon, light cracker aroma. Crisp, somewhat dry, toasted malty, light lemon flavor. Pretty easy drinking, basic brew.

A little too sweet. Uninhibited maltiness meets salt water taffy. Longfin has the nose of apple peels. The color is an obligatory off-tan, yellow.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is a pretty decent bready lager in a vaguely European style. It is a cloudy golden color w/ grassy hops and grain husk in the nose. Taste is a bit on the sweet side w/ a slight buttery note that seems to fade to the background as you drink it. It is a flavor flaw but pretty minor and I’d imagine if you drank this in quantity you would not care after a while. This is a decent beer w/ a reasonable amount of bitterness in the finish but I think there are lots of similar beers that work a lot better.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle pours a bright clear golden/straw with a large white head. Aroma of sweet honey, slight yeast, a little bread, and some grassy hops. Taste is all around very light, light bread and very light grassy hops. Really not much flavor, but hey it’s a very drinkable lager.
