A classic German-Style Beer, Brewed in San Diego. Our Longfin Lager has become one of the go-to beers with the team at the brewery. A solidly balanced Helles inspired Lager with a clean, slightly hoppy finish that could easily fit in at any German beer garden. We think it’s perfect for enjoying on the beach, the boat or anywhere else you can put an ice chest full of beer.

I was really hoping for something that set this apart from other lagers but it just doesn’t. Easy drinking and would be decent cold on a hot day. In general I like beer so I don’t rate anything too low as long as it’s without off/bad tastes you get the 3.5. However, there is nothing here worth the high price. Want a great easy drinking beer from Ballast Point try the Even Keel.

12 oz. brown bottle into a Foothills glass. A: Clear straw color with the slightest haze. Half finger of loose head. Good lacing but it does not last and goes down to only a small collar around the glass. S: Tart herbs and dough, mostly. T: Crackers/doughy malt flavors with a tart herbal hop flavor finding its way through later, along with a bit of a sweetish roundness as the beer warms. Crisp, clean and bitter. Quite good. M: A bit on the stiff side of light. A good amount of bubble tingle on the tongue. Minimal hops stickiness, a bit wet maybe and very clean. Maybe this beer’s best quality. O: Had high hopes for Longfin but found it good though hardly great. I appreciate everything about this lager, including its low ABV. It all says "quality" but nothing was found truly exceptional. A good brew but expensive. At $12/6, I’ve likely had my last B.P. Longfin.

Slightly hazy pale straw/ golden color with a small white head. Aroma is a little skunky with some hay / flowery hops. Flavor is bittersweet crisp maltiness with some herbal/ lemony hops and a touch of diacetyl, not bad. Medium to light palate. Nice, refreshing, but a little bit too industrial and impersonal.

This is just a light and all day, every day kind of lager. Nothing overly special about it.

Can. Clear pale gold with lasting white head and some lace. Grassy hay bread aroma. Medium sweet honey vanilla with mild grassy bitterness and some lingering crackery malty sweetness. Light body. Low carbo. Decent enough. Only the fifth "premium lager" I have rated, though I’ve rated 12 Dortmunder/helles.

12 oz single bottle from Total Wine & More - Gilbert (AZ). Pale gold appearance with a diminishing white head. Pilsner/pale malts with noble hops and a nice clean feel. A little plain, but easy to drink.
