COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ballast Point’s Brewing and Spirits Navigator Doppelbock is inspired by the strong German dark lagers and bock’s. Briess Extra Special malt helps create the source of the flavors that dominate the aroma and taste buds in Navigator. You are able to enjoy forward flavors of caramelized malt sugars and dried fruits, such as raisins, apricots and prunes. This strong lager is a big malt-driven beer that truly deserves the nickname “liquid bread.”

"Pretty full bodied and full flavored. Kind of lacking in depth, but what it lacks there it makes up for in tasty goodness. Simple, straightforward, sweet, fruity, bready and pretty nice!"

GABF 2013. Pours a deep brown appearance with a tan head. Caramel, lightly roasted malty, chocolate, a bit dark fruity aroma. Light plum, toffee, dark fruity, light grape, caramel flavor that finishes a touch dry. Pretty smooth for the abv and not a bad overall beer but nothing too special.

Caytinator (966) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JUL 7, 2013
Draft at Stone World. Cherry color, translucent, big head bubbles down. Aroma is cough drops & alcohol, weird. I taste over-ripened bananas, and dark fruits on the nose, and alcoholic bitterness at the end. Heavy body, the taste has too much alcohol. I like the style, but I’d skip this attempt at a doppelbock. Not the worst one I’ve had, but I don’t think I’d order it again.

Draft at coles. Deeper amber color. Caramel malt heavy aroma, touch of raisins and dark fruits. Lots of dark fruits in flavor, dark grapes, raisins. Creamy mouthfeel. Slight booziness. Decent, flavor need a touch more intensity. Lots o quad characteristics.

Pours whiskey brown with no head or lacing. Mild aroma of coffee and nut. Light carbonation, almost too light. Oily texture. Finishes bitter sweet with decent balance. Tap at Coles.
