10oz on tap at Neonís. Pours black in color. Light brown head. Just a bit of it, but itís a nice color. Decent splotches of lace. Kind of loose. Medium body. Smooth, kind of velvety, creamy texture. Lightly chewy. Light carbonation. Nice milk chocolate, oats, moderate sweet taste. Very light bitterness. Good oatmeal stout. Nothing crazy about it, but itís a well-done, smooth example of the style.

Draft. Poured dark brown color with medium brown fizzy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted sweet coffee flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Draft at The Beer Authority in Seattle. Smooth brown with tall white head. Nice solid, sweet, medium body stout. Rich for its weight. Another great Ballast Point beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Would of Beer. Pours dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Taste is smooth and creamy, light chocolate, light coffee, bready and slightly sweet. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like bitter coffee, sweet syrup, and semisweet cocoa.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at WOB. Pours deep, dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, oats, light vanilla, fig, and light woody notes. Flavor is rich roast and chocolate malts, oat creaminess, coffee, earthy notes, and faint dark fruit esters; smooth and creamy throughout with a dry, chocolate finish. Medium body and carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I had this at Ballast Point in Little Italy.
The beer is dark brown, nearing black, with a thin beige collar. Aromas of chocolate, dark malt, grains, bread. Some dark fruit and raisin notes in the flavor. Really smooth on the palate due to the serving medium. Well balanced and easy to drink. Good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I do enjoy a fine dry stout and this oneís a class act. Perfect in terms of appearance: pitch black with deep ruby red highlights, and a super thick cappuccino-like head. Nutty, sweet, burnt toast aroma. Flavors were similar, lots of nutty sweet malts and burnt toast, along with a slight smokiness. I wanted a bit more punch from the flavor department. Mouthfeel was light and easy, donít want to quite say íthiní. Had this one on nitro at the brewery (5%abv).

Draft at Winberieís. Dark chocolate appearance with minimal head. Thick, chewy oatmeal/chocolate/raisin mouthfeel. Creamy and smooth. Delicious.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nitro at tylers Carrboro. Black with a big olí thick and marshmallowy yellow tan head as typical of a good nitro pour. I rarely drink nitros and forget how aesthetically pleasing these beers are. Though the nitro pours do make it more difficult to ascertain aroma and flavor. Aroma is light, some metallic roast, marshmallow, oatmeal. No coffee noted. Flavor is meh. A little disappointing for this brewery.
