mgumby10 (1642), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours a light brown color, with a medium light brown head. Smells of some dark malts and dark fruits mixed. Overall mild aroma. Nice balance to the flavor. Some caramel malt and dark fruits, apples, and grapes mostly. A touch of some woodsyness in the finish to go along with the fruity sweetness left on the palate. Decent little scottish ale, but nothing to go nuts for. maniac (1976), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2008 On tap at Ballast Point during the RBSG Pub Crawl Tour on 08/01/2008. Clear copper amber body with a medium off-white head. Sweet nutty caramel aroma. Sweet caramel nutty flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation. hopscotch (4485), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2008 Draft... RBSG ‘08... Beautiful, crystal clear, copper ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The subtle aroma is of caramel; nothing more, nothing less. Medium-bodied and slightly creamy with subdued carbonation. Sways just a tad toward the bitter side of balance. Finishes caramelly, then bitter. bb (2088), Martinez, California, USA Aug 19, 2008 Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream-colored head. Big caramel malt aroma. malt, caramel flavor with light citrus and earth. Medium bodied. Caramel lingers with a bit of citrus. I expected more of a stone fruit, but I got light citrus. Hmm... JMFG (1140), Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Sampled from growler @ brewery, RBSG. Clear amber pour with a thick khaki head. Mostly caramel malts on the nose, mild earthy hop background. Nice fruity malt characters on the taste, subtle hop finish. A nice Scottish.
