alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico Apr 27, 2007 On tap at the Linkery, Sweet and bitter with lots of citrus and slight pine. It has a caramel/honey backbone that comes with a hearty dose of malts to balance the big hop kick. Very clean and fresh, its actually between a double and a regular IPA. Very tasty a fruity finish.
tripelthreat (75), Soquel, California, USA Nov 7, 2009 Bomber into Stone IPA glass. Light amber body with a small white head that fades into a thin patches. Aroma is big initial peach and mango that is quickly displaced by lots of grapefruit, lemon and pine notes on the outskirts. Sweet tropical sugars in the nose as well. The flavor is mostly grapefruit, but the orange and lemon mix in as well. Just enough sweetness and lightly bready malt in the background to provide some contrast. There is big bitterness accompanies the dominant grapefruit, keeping things fairly dry and crisp. Leaves some nice light lacing. Moderate carbonation. Excellent stuff. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Nov 7, 2009 22 oz bottle pours a hazy golden amber body with a tall offwhite head that lasts forever. Lavish sticky lacing. Aroma is citrusy and floral(orange blossoms) with pink grapefruit, oranges, and other tropical fruits underneath. Taste has a prevailing citrusy hop bitterness that is mostly pink grapefruit. A plethora of tropical fruits peak adds delicate hints throughout. Malt presence adds a gentle whisper of sweetness. Very clean and even, supremely well balanced. Delicious and dangerously drinkable. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 7, 2009 On cask at The Flying Saucer in Raleigh. Light gold pour with a small white head on it. It was a little undercarbonated, but not too badly. Light and fruity hop flavor, but missing a little bit of hoppy bitterness that I was expecting. Easy to drink and very tasty though! Miver (551), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 3, 2009 Bomber shared with and thanks to Axilla. Poured slightly cloudy orangish in color with a nice off white sticky head that left great lacing on the glass. Aroma is very piney and floral with a nice sweetness to back it up. Tastes of sweet american hops, grapefruit, piney, resin, with a nice caramel malt backbone. Very fantastic and drinkable IPA. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 31, 2009 Bomber from Monk’s Kettle S.F. This clear golden ale poured with a thin beige head and an aroma of pine and citrus. It’s easy to drink, even though there is enough tasty hop bitterness to satisfy a hardcore hophead. Very well-crafted. TeamTrappist (365), jericho, New York, USA Oct 30, 2009 Cask at Blind Tiger. Poured a clearish light mahogany with a thin bubbly head. Nose is nice floral and piny hops. Mouthful is a bit on the thin side. This is a nice an easy drinker for the hop fan, and also for the non hop fan. The hop flavor is prevalent but not overpowering. There is a hint of sweetness up front, then it is full on hops with a nice and long lingering bitter finish.Very well balanced and extremely drinkable. hellomisterp (32), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 Fresh 22oz bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a 1 inch foam head that fades into surface head. A very piney nose. An earthy mouth feel with good carbonation and very dry finish. Didn’t capture my full attention as much as the hype did. boamr (112), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle shared by mrbendo. Pours a orange color with a nice white head to it.
