Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Best part is the aroma, smells exactly like fresh grapefruit juice. Taste falls off for me with not much bitterness or sweetness. Taste was a little boring especially for the price ($15 for 6!). Good beer but wouldn't buy again since taste isn't aggressive enough for the price. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really liked it but is should be noted I’m a grapefruit freak. Nice aroma and a good rindy flavor.

12oz bottle at Ribeye Grill, New York on 21-Oct-2015. Clear light amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel and pine. The grapefruit pretty much overpowered everything else on the taste. Medium hopped, but with a fruity sweetness. Couldn’t have more than one.

Fine IPA, but modest grapefruit contribution. Grapefruit flavor just seems to dumb down the hops.

12 oz bottle from The Caboose in Ashland, VA The ale poured a clear light amber with small off-white head that dissipated to a collar on the ale. The aroma of grapefruit rind, hints of pine and other fruits greets you. , The taste is more like fresh grapefruit. The medium body ale had average carbonation . Sculpin is in a class by itself. The finish was smooth with lingering grapefruit bitterness. I hope the purchase of Ballast Point by Constellation will be positive for the craft beer industry. Please join Stone and Green Flash on the East Coast. This is why craft beers are so popular. This is not an everyday lager.

On tap. It is what it is. Delicious Sculpin with grapefruit juice added. Not as bad as it sounds, but still I prefer not to add juice to my beer.

Poured from the bottle of a 6 pack of cans, smell is grapefruit, as is the taste. I got some creamy, pine, and mostly grapefruit, not to mention a really good buzz from drinking all 6. The IPA part of this I’m not sure of because there is so much grapefruit, at least I won’t get scurvy.

Deep, hazy gold pour with puffy white head. Aromas of grapefruit, cedar, candied malt sweetness. Tons of citrus, good balance, lingering bitter sweet finish.
