dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2009 22 oz bomber from padrefan98, thanks Jon. Wow this is simply an IPA and not a double, very impressive. Pours a golden orange with an average size bright white foamy head. Aroma is cat piss, grassy hops, citrus and call me nutts but my first impression was also some peanut butter. Body is prefect, medium bodied, medium to slightly strong carbonation with a bitter finish. Flavor is citrus, fresh cut grass, slight pine, biscuit. This one is a big hop bomb for a straight up IPA, not for the nonhop hearted. HonkeyBra (1266), Lemont, Illinois, USA Apr 26, 2009 Bottle thanks to WeeHeavySD . Thanks man! Clear, clean golden pour with thick, sticky white head. Nice, strong hoppy aroma. Hops absolutely dominate this ones flavor. Mouthfeel is nice and makes the beer extremely drinkable. Absolutely loved it. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Apr 19, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of bitter and grassy hops . Flavor nearly entirely straight bitter hops for me, just a touch of grass, and if I press myself really hard, a slight hint of mango. Certainly highly drinkable, up there with Pliny in that regard, which I’d bet is why it’s rated so high, but I’d like more character from the hops. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Apr 18, 2009 Updated: Apr 22, 2009Bottle thanks to WeeHeavySD. Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma of grassy and garlicky hops. Flavor of bitter grapefruit and garlicky hops with a touch of citrusy sweetness and fruity hops in the finish. Certainly hop dominated. The hop profile is not my favorite, but this is a damn good IPA and extremely drinkable too.
8/4/8/5/15 (4.0/5) chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2009 Bottle thanks to WeeHeavySD. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Citrus and pine hops dominate the aroma and flavor. Some nice malt balance, some resin in the flavor. Good stuff, glad to finally try it. scoobydank (6), Maple Grove, Minnesota, USA does not count Mar 25, 2009 L: Barely off white frothy thick head. Crystal clear bright light amber color. Tight tiny bubbles dance up the glass.
S:The glass is over a foot away from my nose and I can still smell those stinky delicious hops. Freshly cut spicey gass is the first thing. A slight sweet candied apricot floats in.
T: That fresh cut spicy grass is the first sip. A weedy grassyness even. It continues to bombard you with those hops. A caramle sweetness meshes with a grainy bredyness. A touch of pepper.
M:Tiny little bubbles flick the tongue. Yes it still feels fat and round.
D:Frickin great. The balance of this beer is amazing, yet the grassy hops are so pungent. Everything just gives way to each other for a beautiful beer. dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Mar 15, 2009 22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a clear medium amber color with a thin head. Good head retention and lacing. Big resiny hop aroma with some mild tropical and citrus fruit notes. Taste is very heavy hops.... pine, earth, vegetal and a little metal. Slight citrusy fruit and caramel notes. Medium bodied. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 7, 2009 bottle via trade w/ snojerk321, great golden glow with medium loose foam, aromas of musky hops, grapefruit, some spice, flavors of resin, corn syrup, citrus and really nice bitter finish, thanks Torry
