Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2009 Tasty, hop-oriented "ipa" nearing DIPA I hope, because its juicy piney grapefruity goodness is got to be nearing that territory. Pours a light tan wheaty looking pour with minimal white head. Nose is straight citrus hop. Flavor similar but with a more IPA oriented deadness where the DIPA becomes more potent in its hop profile this one wears off quick. Very drinkable and very good IPA. ncbeerman (1), liberty, North Carolina, USA does not count Jul 5, 2009 Heavy on the grapefruit both on the nose and on the palate. I just happen to like this style. A little low on the suds, not overly carbonated. Amazing to squeeze so much flavor out of a regular 7% IPA. It’s tough to compare but with a bigger malt back bone and more hops ypou get into Hopslam territory. One very decent and hard to get brew, but worth the effort. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 21, 2009 Bottle shared with Sparky27...THANKS ERIC!!! Amazingly balanced IPA...24 karat pour with a dense 1-inch ivory head that left a significant amount of lacing. Ripe grapefruit, orange rind, and lemon zest in the nose. Fresh and fruity flavor that is bright and exhibits just enough caramel to offset the citrus and pine. Medium mouthfeel...top-notch in its style. MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2009 Bomber with much love to gorditoabd. Body is a golden orange, while head is about a finger of froth. Aromas are simply lovely... a nice mix of citrus and tropical fruit: lemon and mango come to mind, but it seems a little like cheating using descriptors from the description. I can also pick up a little grapefruit and just a hint of pine in there. Flavor is simply fantastic! A lovely mix of the elements from the nose, but even more full than I would have guessed. This is a fairly interesting IPA in that the fruit flavors seem to be much more tropical and sweet than citrus. Still, they are well balanced and the malt stays away from the cloying sweetness. In sum, this is a crisp and very well made IPA. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA Jun 11, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours orange with a foamy white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is of oily hops, grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Taste is of very oily hops, lots of citrus, and pine. Has a very nice caramel malt base. Also has big characters of honey and grass. Has a very sharp alcohol bite that lingers long after each sip. Lingering oily hop and honey taste. Mouthfeel is heavily carbonated. Very enjoyable beer, but way too damned oily. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA Jun 11, 2009 Thanks to Cletus for thiis. Pours a deep yellow orange with thick off-white head. Aroma is very refreshing of citrus and ever so slight floral hops, some sweet fruits, and grass. Flavor matches very well and is quite a nice brew to drink. Just wish I had this available to me. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2009 22 oz bomber. Pours a light orange vistalite with a medium white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and light piney resin. Taste of pine, pine resin, citrus and floral hops. Very nice IPA. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jun 9, 2009 Bottle courtesy Doboy, shared with my brother.Clear gold with a smalish off white head. Huge grapefruit aroma with lots of pine resin build on a base of toffee and honey. Medium body and carbonation, quite resinous as expected, very dry palate. Fleeting malt sweetness gives way to an assertive bitterness that extends into a lengthy dry finish. This is one big, bad IPA.
