Giant vanilla, oak, bourbon aroma, but a wild sour funky tropical fruit flavor. Giant contrast between aroma and taste, which can be fun! Yeah, there’s hops but this mofo be wild and funky, monky mamma boongie boomie yaaah...! Yummm!!! On tap at O’Briens...good thou wild tastin’ ayieeeee!!! :)

Light unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, orange, fruity - tropic ala peach - mango - lemon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (190608)

Aug 29, 2008 Bottle at Ballast Point during the RBSG Pub Crawl Tour on 08/01/2008. Clear golden body with a large frothy off-white head. Big spicy hop aroma. Huge spicy hop flavor with light caramel. Medium body with medium carbonation.

Aug 14, 2008 Bottle: (Thanks puzzl!) Nice cloudy glowing orange pour with a tight off white head. Sweet aroma- citrusy resins with some butterscotch sweetness and a cookie-like-malt note. Light feel with a fairly sweet flavor. Some subtle butterscotch gives way to later piny citruses and a late dry/resiny finish. Decent IPA, could be better with less sweetness.

Aug 13, 2008 RBSG 2008, from the bottle at the brewery. Pours gold with a smooth white head and thick lacing down the glass. Floral pine hop nose, soft citrus notes, but the pine took over. Very nice balance with a fruity caramel malt base and the earthy pine hop finish, soft tropical fruit notes find their way into the finish.

Aug 13, 2008 Big fresh hop aroma with nice minty notes. Rich buttery hop in the flavor with basil and carroway. The hops are bright but very bitter, not highlighting enough citrus or resin for me. Pretty tough to drink with a bitter finish.
