4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 Most impressive in hiding its strength behind an otherwise laid-back balance. That is good or bad - depending on what one does with it (my suggestion is íbe carefulí).

People always told me to try this and for whatever reason I never have. Very happy I just did. Havenít smelled/tasted this much melon in anything else except Maine Beer Co. "Another One." Wish it had a brewed on date.

Iím not liking the lack of dating on this beer. Itís brewed in San Diego and Iím in Massachusetts, where I purchased it off a wooden uncooled shelf after a long, hot summer. I see that it is a highly rated brew (thereís nothing higher than 100, unless you play football and always give 110%), but what Iím drinking just seems pleasantly ordinary. In which case, depending on price and availability (never seen it anywhere else in MA other than Trubeer in Easthampton) I might have it again.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2014 Edit: Tap@bishops, gamla. Soft caramelly nice ipa. Deserves better than the 3.4 I gave it.
Tap@sbwfí13. Amber. Caramel, hoppy nose. Medium full body. Loads of caramel, fruity us/nz-ness, with a good pine finish. Caramel, nice stronger IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2015 Draught @ sbwf13. Amber, thick white head. Grapefruit, floral, hoppy aroma, quite typical wipa. Flavor has grapefruity hoppyness, light caramel, bitter hoppy finish. Decent ipa.

Wunderbar! This is an awesome IPA with more than just a hint of pineapple and grapefruit. It has a good solid amount of bitters which contribute to the fruity aroma. This beer will make you salivate, a must have!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bottle. Nice and crispy mellow yellow color. First taste is caramel and as you palate its citrusy tones are revealed. Nice hoppiness. This will definitively taste better from tap. I had tried before a big eye IPA from bottle and from draft and the flavor difference is abysmal. A bit pricey for its type.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at BLB pours a slightly hazy copper/orange with a medium off-white head. Nice balanced aroma of tropical and citrus hops, grapefruit, with light caramel malt. Man the taste is smooth, nice bright hops balanced with the caramel malt and a perfect level bitterness to make this both flavorful and extremely drinkable. Very nice! Glad this is no available in the area.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2015 Update: First time out of a can. Should be pretty fresh - just hit Rum River today. No doubt this is a quality IPA, but I had it slightly overrated. Aroma is solid before the head fades, but that goes quick. -1 Aroma, -1 Appearance, -2 overall.
Update: The middle is a bitterness that you have to endure just slightly to make it to the more mellow aftertaste. Aroma is where this beer shines. Taste is very good but doesnít quite live up. Clean, sharp, crisp, bitter hops with a sugar cookie kind of sweetness to the malts, both in aroma and up-front taste. No date on bottles, and I hate docking points when I donít know the freshness. This bottle is fresh from a new liquor store, so I feel OK with the re-rate.
On tap @ Muddy Pig. Pours a clear light amber with lasting ring of head and awesome lacing. Aroma is off the charts with grapefruit, mango, and pineapple. Taste is citrus with some pine, and very low on malt. This is crisp and bitter, a pure and simple IPA with an insanely smooth palate. Furious has a bit more malt balance, but stays more aggressive with a sharper, meatier bitterness at the expense of a little smoothness. Sculpin has a clean and pure malt-less bitterness that allows the hops to stand alone, all while somehow staying medium-bodied and smooth. Slight sugar cookie aroma, giving it some malt balance as it goes down the glass. Awesome beer. 10+5+9+5+18=4.7

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mystic golden amber body with thin white head. Lingering lacing on the glass. Very well balanced IPA with an orangy nose and a hint of malt in the back end. Smooooooth palate and finish. The hop never dominates the taste but it makes its presence felt. A surprisingly full body IPA which canít be said to other noteworthy IPAs from Bells or Laguitas. highly recommended. Worth the price of admission.
