San Diego IPA
The Sculpin IPA is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. Founded in 1992, the Mart continues to be a catalyst for the San Diego brewing scene, setting the trend for handcrafted ales. Inspired by our customers, employees and brewers, the Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale took a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in the Pro Am category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

Color dorada, espuma de baja retencion. En aroma se sienten los lupulos en forma bien intensa, citricos. Cuerpo medio, con notas citricas y frutales, amargor bien equilibrado.

One of those legacy beers you always hope you’ll stumble across - and it finally happened. Let’s see how it matches up to the world’s IPAs. Nose of pine needles and mild orange. Flavour of sharp pine and orange rind. Decent stuff. Lasting head.

Violence! It’s like electricity in a glass. It’s all sharp edges, but still pretty easy to drink. Very very hoppy. That’s really all I have to say. It’s pretty good though.

Poured bottle into Teku. Wish the bottle was more fresh. Lacks the hop aroma. Appearance is slightly hazy pale. Flavor is very very well balanced. You would have guessed this was a 5.5% beer. Overall a solid IPA.

Bottle 33 cl. Golden, cloudy with a medium offwhite head. Hoppy nose, and some light caramel sense. Light/med bitterness with a ok fruit end.

Good IPA this. Nice aroma, with classic american IPA notes. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Copper color. Hint of raisiny and toffee taste, probably from crystal malts, which is not my favorite. A good, classic american IPA.

Extra point for being so difficult to get. Or I should take the points away .... Anyway : the beer has a huge aroma of well balanced bouquet of fruits. The usual stuff but better. It smells really like you wanted it as your perfume. The taste is more interesting. It has a good bite of pomelo but with a kick of fresh zest. Almost like it wasn’t a beer which is ...not sure if good but difficult not to admire the craft. Good stuff and I was happy to taste it finally.

Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is lots of fruity hops, with citrus, grapefruit, and tropical hops dominant, and some mango as well. Flavor is full of juicy hops: fruit, citrus, and tropical fruits. Has a light bitterness, with a crisp mouthfeel. This is an excellent IPA.

Fantastic ipa! Great balance of tropical fruits, peach, mango, passionfruit and guava intertwined with a hefty malt bull but balanced excellent with the hops and no astringent finish.

Flaske. Uklar oransje farge, lavt karbonert med en tynn skumtopp som forsvinner. Smaker sitrus, grapefrukt, tropisk samt høstløv. Meget god
