Pours orange-yellow with a white lace head. Aroma of grapefruit and another sweet underlying fruity aroma. Tatses like pink grapefruit, with a good inital tart acidity which is moderated by a sweet floral sugar taste. I really liked this beer.

Finally in Maryland!! Been waiting a long time for this one.
22oz bomber into a craft glass. The pour is a very clear, light golden color. Aroma makes my mouth water. Peach blasts the nose right away. I get citrus and tropical notes as well. Mouth is also blasted with peach right off the line. Solid hop bitterness throughout. Nice resin character and slight dryness in the finish. Superb IPA! Now I must find a way to try AleSmithís.

Great IPA, I had it several times, but just realized that I have never rated it. The aroma, the look, the taste, the aftertaste, all of them makes it an awesome IPA. If you are a hop head, 70 IBUs are over flowing! Well done Ballast Point.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2012 Drank in shorter pilsner glass from 22 oz bottle at home. Aroma- very nice hoppy smell with notes of cirus. Appearance- golden orange color with very light head. Carbonated. Taste- very smooth and hoppy with a citrsu twist. Excellent! Palate- clean hoppy mouthfeel. Once again with just a hint of citrus. Overall- one of best ipas i have ever had. Clean and drinkable but still substantial hoppiness

Resin and bread on the nose. Pretty complex, thereís some kind of chile flavor I pick up. Had to search to get this one, thought it would be more readily available. Great IPA a bit different.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours golden yellow with white head that dissipates. Piney hop aroma. Nice hop flavor that isn't too overwhelming or boozy.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber.
A: Pours a cloudy orange with a bit of yeast sediment and a one finger white head.
S: Various citrus fruits and hop aromas.
T: Citrus fruits, perhaps grapefruit and peach, followed by hop bitterness, and then finishing with the fruit flavors.
M: Medium to light bodied and well carbonated.
D: Not a typical representation of the West Coast IPA, but Big Eye would fit that mold more. This fruit flavors balancing out the hop bitterness were a pleasant surprise, and this reminds me quite a bit like AleSmith IPA, another great San Diego IPA.

Awesome apricot and citrus aroma, peach and coriander a little bit; appears a beautiful yellowish golden color with a nice feathery head. Tastes very light yet flavorful at the same time, lots of hops complemented by that fruity citrus. Bitterness is nothing but pleasant the whole way. Extremely light on the palate, with a thin texture and an average level of carbonation that yields a perfect finish - a sense of satisfaction and lasting flavor, but a feeling of slight thirst that another gulp satisfies. Overall you canít do much better than this beer.
