4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear golden pour, with just a touch of amber, coupled with a very nice head and long lasting lacing. The nose is a complex blend of grapefruit, mango and other sweet tropicals against a subtle spruce. Light medium body with a smooth texture. The carbonation level is a touch above normal. The outstanding flavor profile is expertly complex and follows the nose. Grapefruit leads then flows into the sweeter hop flavors. In the middle the biscuit malt comes through against a subtle spruce flavor. The finish effervesces into a grapefruit bitter tartness over a caramel sweetness. This is an outstanding complex hop flavor bomb.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Bhensonb. Thanks a bunch, man. Big lemony/orange hoppiness in the nose that mixes well with a deep floral sweetness. The initial taste lives up to the promise! There is a big hoppy smack with the balancing sweetness right there with it. Perfect timing. Palate is a bit rough with the hoppy bitterness, but it runs a smooth malt softness right away. The beer finishes just dry enough. This would be regular for me if I could get it, and is a solid 4.2 without hesitation. Thanks for the beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden, amber, copper with a white, two-finger, frothy head.
Smells piney, not super big (reminder that this one isnít imperial), malt comes through as toast, butter, and a bit of caramel. Standard ipa aroma and no citrus or fruit.
The tastes come through in cycles. First is hops, pine leads. Then malt, mostly butter, some biscuit, a little bread, and in there is some fruit. Bit of pineapple and a tinge of grapefruit. Then pine comes back into the mix.
A well-rounded ipa, that approaches drinking like a double. Multiple flavors are present. Itís not hop or malt dominant. Itís also not totally pine or fruit dominant. Very good.

Poured into a glass from a bottle. Hazy orange with a thin head. Smells of grapefruit. Taste hoppy with a bite at the end. Overall it's a great IPA.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Maybe the best IPA ivíe ever had, although it feels more like a double. All the citrus you could possibly want, almost as Hopslam and Nugget Nectar had a baby.
A truly fantastic beer.

Poured from a can. Hazy gold with a very thick, long-lasting head. Very strong citrusy aroma. Bitter, but in a good way. Definitely would have again.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mango and caramel on the nose in balanced succession. Enchanting appearance: very lively carbo bubbles; two-finger creamy ivory head; sparkling clear light gold. Taste: tart citrus, sweet mango, and finishes with bitter pine and saltiness. Palate: thin to oily. refreshing carbonation feel. lingering bitter finish.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2011 One of the finest IPA Iíve tasted. Itís an incredibly smooth brew that does down terrific.A wonderful array of citrus flavors, orange peel, grapefruit, peach. I tried sculpin after a stone ipa (which is also great) an sculpin was noticeably superior. Top notch.
