3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2013 Bottle from systembolaget
Really nice aroma, heavy in both grape, passion fruit and mango
Nice clear straw colour and great head.
The taste is nice, you can notice that some maltiness is there but it is only in the background and just enough to carry the hops. Just as the maltiness in an IPA should be. The bitterness is nice and pretty round and smooth.
The body is light to medium, the carbination average and the finish is pretty long with the nice bitterness from the taste. The palate is okey but I prefer my IPAs lighter and more carbonated.
It is a relly nice IPA. It would be interesting to try this in USA to get it really fresh, ’cause even if it is good it still has nothing on some locally produced IPAs we get fresh here in sweden

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Flaska bishops marina med päronen - doftar otroligt friskt. Mörkgul med vitt skum och lätt dimmig. Tydlig men behaglig beska. Smakar lite blodapelsin.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy straw with a thick head from a tap. An excellent representative of what an IPA is or at least should be in the flooded market that exists today. Good beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From San Diego. Bright translucent orange-copper with small watery white head. Lots of fruit in the smell - mango, pineapple, citrus. Tastes of fruity bitter hop and malt with a long slightly spicy finish. More malt and less hop than I expected. Body is crisp but juicy. Not very big and quite malty for an IPA but still very tasty.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
2 week old bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. The beer pours a mostly clear, brightly colored amber with a thick white head that slowly shrinks to a finger and leaves lots of lacing. This beer is beautiful. Immediately I smell tropical fruit aromas as I pour. Upon further inspection I can detect bright mango, pineapple, and bubblegum. Real nice and fruity. When finally tasting the beer I first note an immediate piney hop bitterness that is quickly met with the tropical flavors detected in the aroma. The resinous qualities of this beer come back just as quickly as they faded and mix with a somewhat restrained caramel malt. Very nice. The mouthfeel is nice and full and the beer clings to your tongue and mouth. It is still refreshing despite it’s body, and I could sesh this beer, at least for a 6 pack.
Overall this is a fantastic IPA and worth seeking out, fresh if possible.

Another solid offering from Ballast point. Good flavour, not sure its really a 4.05 but its is definitely a well made beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (22oz $7): I get mostly pine and not much citrus taste from this, Then there is a slow build to a fair amount of bitterness that lingers and almost turns to metallic tasting. Good, but not going to be a regular.

Purchased at: Craft Beer Outlet, Phila, PA for $11.99
Aroma: nice, calming, beach, field, grassy, salty, citrus.
Visuals: brand focused packaging, a bright engaged yellow, brilliantly clear, bright white tight bubbled head, sticky lace.
Taste: expertly balanced, honey, citrus, rind, peppers.
Palate: Bright, crisp, and layered, drying, increasingly bitter long finish.
Overall: Fantastic. In my top 3 IPAs, certainly. A favorite.
From a firkin. Oh boy. This knocked me over at the Bella Vista Grand reopening in October in Philadelphia. Those 2 oz samples were like little tiny bricks sealing me in to a personal twiddly state. It was amazing, memorable, and significant. After about the third small sample, the world was a blur. Use with caution, and enjoy. If you can get it, suckas.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours golden orange with a finger of fluffy white head. Upfront aroma of mango, grapefruit and caramel biscuitiness. Fuckin barnstormer. Flavours are textbook - loads of tropical hop flavours, mango and citrus backed with a cracking caramel malt backbone, get a bitta that in ya. Nice present but not overbearing bitterness. Brb getting a carton.
